Nope it matters not one jot.
Maybe for you because you are more into the "football" aspect of it but for me they are very different things. The Champions League was special of course but once again it was a different feeling and for different reasons both just as important and both just as amazing. They was both incredible. The way you feel is the way you feel, but I have to say I don't understand you. I don't understand how winning the Full Members Cup was equal to winning the CL. To me, it sounds it's all on one level following Chelsea. No real extreme highs or lows. Playing against and beating Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool is no different than beating Notts County, Luton or Bradford. It doesn't even matter if we are relegated. Doesn't matter if the club is broke. Doesn't matter if the ground is a dump etc etc etc. Seriously, in 2016, how many people do not care if the building they are paying to spend time in is a dumo or a nice place to go to? On another note. I see that Matic is saying Kante is even better than Makalele was, adding that Kante has more ability on the ball. Matic is right about that! |

Interesting to see Conte saying that when he arrived as Juve manager, the defenders were poor, and he completely turned that around. It will be interesting to see if he can improve Luiz's play. At his best he's definitely up there with the best in the world, and his mistakes seem to get blown up more than mistakes from other players. |

Once again you are talking purely from a materialistic POV. You are talking about watching football instead of going to football, Two very different things I don't care about what other people feel like in 2016. I am not spending money to go to a building, I buy a season ticket to spend time with friends and family to sing and cheer on Chelsea. When you are standing up for 90+ mins etc the surroundings are not really relevant. Its not going to the cinema or a theatre where you upgrade for the comfy seats or a bigger screen or in 3d |

Follow Chelsea is one big high. Would it matter if we got relegated yes of course, Would it affect my enjoyment of going to the games? Nope because I am going with the same people doing the same thing watching a team called Chelsea.

On every level we were trying to compete with both arms tied behind our backs. The club was a shambles for nigh on 20 years. |

And yet now we have fans who complain, yes complain, about HOW we win trophies.
That's what's changed for the worst. That's where fans have forgotten their roots surely, To think 30 years ago we had a dump of a ground, struggling on the pitch and then fast forward to now when we have to win the league in style. Time definitely changes things..... |

Seeing that I was there when everything was truly shite, I still loved going to the games for all the reasons you do. But, as I have said before, as time passes we can compare eras and I much prefer being where we today, both on and off the pitch, to where we were in the 80's.

Why does a training pitch or lack of one affect your enjoyment? Did you go to games thinking "darn I would had more of a laugh today if we had a training ground"?
Nobody apart from you trying to compare things. It cost me a lot of money and time to get to matches, sometimes taking days off work, or getting back home so late in the morning I barely had a kip before going to work, so doing that to watch a load of shite on the pitch was not exactly a barrel of laughs. We were a first division/premiership club opporating like a glorified non league set up. Other clubs had expensive, state of the training facilities while our oor sods were having to get by using s bit of land owned by the local authority. A total shambles and embarrassment for Chelsea FC. In modern day sports quality training facilities are extremely important! |

Seems rather strange to spend time and money on something you was not enjoying. If you was not having a laugh at games it might be because you was not hanging around with the right people, I remember having great laughs in those days (as I do now). Do non league fans not enjoy watching their team? Are they not enjoying themselves because they don't have a training ground or fantastic player or playing amazing football. Worrying what your neighbours have, sounds a pretty sad way to spend you time to me. If you wanted to go see a first division/premiership and thought Chelsea was run like glorified non league club why did you go Chelsea? Sounds like someone buying tickets to see Black Sabbath when they want to see a One Direction type group. I have never felt any embarrassment for Chelsea, We might have not had much but nothing wrong with that. What we did what we did with what little we had was something to be proud off. |

You keep talking about the social side of it all, while I am talking about the actual football and the state of the club on and off the pitch. There is no debate about this, those days were THE worst times in the history of the club! 7,000 turned up for one game and it is no exageraration to say the club was heading for extinction if things did not change. Nevermind though, you had a laugh, a sing song and a few pints. so all was well.

I guess we are all different. I love seeing the team win trophies, others think it can only be enjoyed if it's in style.. Guess that's how it is. Anyone who thinks it's tough following their team really shouldn't bother. |

I loved the train travel. Loved drink, a laugh seeing a men's jumper on sale in a shop for £500 quid some 30 years ago. Going to Soho after night matches. etc, but that was all because I went their to watch my team play. As great fun as it all was, it was all secondary to watching the game.Just caught Chris Waddle slating Pogba. Seems that he's like me in thinking he's very overrated. I said it before we signed him, I'd take Kante, all day and every day over a jack of all trades and master of none like a Pogba. |

So it's now gone from being tough following Chelsea to you loved it.
You really are a baffling poster Dixie. A couple of pages of a couple waste of time. I now remember why I shouldnt bother ![]() Pogba was poor. |

I gave perfectly good reasons for why parts of it was tough for me, but I never once said I never enjoyed parts of it as well.
Like thousands of others, there were times and things that made me want to stop going, but I stuck with it through thick and thin. I always 100% convinced the club would one day become a top club. |

Swansea 2 v Chelsea 2
Probably a fair result in the end. For all the possession and nice football you have to create clear chances and take your chances. We should have scored at least 3 or 4. Considering there have been some very close results this season, I'm surprised that it's always the same starting 11. Batshuayi merits coming on earlier and has always made a big difference.
There's definitely a case for Fabregas starting to create more chances. In for Oscar or Willian. Why not start with Moses as well on occasion? There's far too much nice football with no clear chance on the end of it. Fabregas and Moses would both change that. |

Happy enough with a draw in the end.
We'll get taken apart if we play that back four next week and the 'good Liverpool' turn up. Our keeper remains suspect and hopeless at dealing with one on ones. Still far to reliant on Costa and Hazard. City must already be very heavy odds on to win the title. Said it before the season started, i will be happy with a top four place. |

Let's be honest, it's great to have 3 wins and a draw, but only one of those wins was convincing, and the other results relied on substitutions. That starting 11 hasn't looked convincing on the whole. Still a question mark for me over Willian. His shots are normally keeper height and as said before for someone in a forward position, goals and assists are the key. Remember, City have Europe, and they will drop points. If Terry is injured, at least there's a huge player to come in in Luiz. Him and Cahill used to play very well together. Liverpool. If they're at their best, it will be difficult, although their defence has looked shaky. Fabregas needs to start.

I wouldn't start with Fabregas against Liverpool.
It's a very tricky game for us with our slow defence being a bad match up against the pace they have going forward. I would start with Luiz as extra cover and bring on Fabregas if we have to start chasing the game. A win would put us 6 points clear of them, and even at this early stage that would be a very nice cushion to have over them. |

Still think that Batshuayi should be brought on earlier to play with Costa. He has caused big problems for the opposition when brought on in games so fa, and it's clear that with the extra striker for part of the game, the opposition struggles. |

The Cahill situation. Ii was a foul, but he shouldn't be messing around with the ball in those areas. It was like watching John Stones last season but by a player who doesn't have Stones's skill, and Stones doesn't mess around like that now anyway. Cahill played well, but should take some responsibility for the error.

Apparently, we have a new "wonderkid" on our books in 10 year old Denim Ninamudi.
No doubt a future Brentford star in the making then. ![]()

There are a lot of different types of fans around. Some of us remember fans invading the pitch getting a slap round the 'ead from Brian Clough (aka Cloughie), and he was respected for that. No nonsense from him. The game has changed, but I think all fans want to see their team win and win the biggest trophies. The two biggest are surely the PL and the CL. The CL especially is extremely difficult to win these days especially if you're a PL team with tough PL matches every week.
On Kante, I agree that he's better than the very good Makalele. He gets forward more and distributes very quickly and very intelligently. Besides, I think the true comparison with Kante is with Eissen. And Kante (and I wish United had got him) still has some way to go before being considered better than him. Anyway, I can't wait to see your game against Liverppol. That's set to be a classic. |

You know better than me as a Chelsea fan, but I always thought Makele played within himself because you had so many other great passers/attacking midfielders at Chelsea. I remember one championship, I think it was Euro 2008, when Makele was the main man for France because there was no-one else capable. And he showed the full range of his skills then, including dribbling and distribution, which he never really had to before.

I'm glad Luiz is playing, and as mentioned, am a bit concerned that Conte is sticking with the same starting 11 every week (barring Terry's injury) and that starting 11 has looked jittery in every match apart from Burnley at home. Pecking orders again! I don't like them. Freshen things up! |
