Will be insufferable. Melvin & Rochelle were fine last year, especially Melvin who was quite endearing & entertaining. There was a lot wrong with X Factor last year but the spin off wasn't 1 of them.

Fast forward a year & it seems the opposite; perfect main show, shit side show. As a BB fan I see this parasite on my tv each week. His presence is nauseating & matt richardson isn't as amusing as he thinks he is ..

Em last years Xtra Factor was anything but good.

I dont think Melvin and Rochelle were actually the problem, but they are forever changing the presenters on it.

To me the problem was the jokey script, which was more about stupid jokes than actual interviewing the guests

Hopefully the complete change in format, with Live shows, speaking to viewers from the very start will be the change it needs, as for Rylan and Matt, we'll see what they are like, but to me they are good at live formats.

Agreed Rylan will be better than anyone they have had previously

I personally thought that Melvin and Rochelle were brilliant, and fit well with last year's panel. The Xtra Factor in itself has seen its ups and downs, from the unmemorable Ben Shepard to Fearne Cotton, who despite being the host rarely ever actually made an appearance, to the robotic Holly Willoughby, the bumbling Konnie Huq, Caroline and Olly (who actually did a very good job, I do wish they'd stayed hosting Xtra Factor longer than just one and a half seasons together) to Caroline/Matt Richardson, whose style was much closer to that of Melvin/Rochelle, and finally Sarah-Jane Crawford, who proved to be just...confusing. While I am glad to see Rylan back on the show and Matt Edmonson joining him, I'm still disappointed to see Melvin and Rochelle gone.

I would prefer it if they made the xtra factor a bit more grown up....whenever ive watched it ive just had this awful feeling that its not really for my own agw group (late 30s) but for highly strung 13year olds!

The jokes are worse than anything else on the show......very lame, very safe....

Not the biggest fan of rylan clarke though he's got a bigger appeal than some of the other losers they've had on there....

Rylan is known for risque chat loaded with sexual innuendo. That works really well on BBOTs but isn't going to be appropriate for a pre-watershed programme with lots of contestants under 18. Rylan can come across as quite sweet and kind but he also plays up the gay thing a LOT and is gorgeously camp. Not really looking forward to seeing him neutered on the Xtra Factor.

He's annoying as hell. As a Big Brother fan I want him gone from my screen, the BB side show is unwatchable because of him. I liked Melvin from last year so I have no idea why Cowell thinks switching it up with Rylan is an improvement.

Rylan is lovely, and he is a really good presenter and host.

Yeah, I think Rylan is fantastic.

Who knows I think he's a natural as a presenter and actually enjoy watching the Xtra Factor now.

I think he's good at his job, he's likeable to me.

Used to really like Rylan.

His ego has just grown taller than him now though. Hes not a very good duo presenter (I think hes better solo) as he doesn't seem to want to 'share'.

He keeps talking over Matt and trying to be funnier than him. Shame really as this never works when one presenter sees themselves as being 'bigger' than the other one.

Not a fan of Rylan as a presenter. I've heard he's a very nice guy to work with, no diva behaviour at all, but that doesn't come across on screen as everything he does seems to be all about him. Xtra Factor needs to be about the acts, not the presenter.

Rylan is brilliant. Needs someone like him to go against the grain. Cant stand Matt.
The videos of when they got stuck in the lift after the first X Factor show are very funny.

I really enjoyed the xtra factor at the weekend. Him and matt are really good imo.

I refuse to watch anything Rylan is in, but this is no great loss.

I prefer Melvin, he made Xtra factor watchable for me last year. I get enough of Rylan all year on Big Brother. He's the most annoying presenter on television for me. His voice is worse than nails on a chalk board..

I used to watch Xra Factor however after 1 episode I will not be watching again as I cant stand that self indulgent person. If he was made of Chocolate he would eat himself.
