best unlimited SIM for USB dongle

Hello, I will be living in a countryside for six weeks with no broadband. I need nonstop data connection (no matter how fast, 256kbit/s is enough).
I have a 3G-to-wifi router, so I am looking for some SIM with slowed down connection after reaching FUP limit (like T-mobile had 2 years ago), not with stopped service, as is usual these days. So far I found giffgaff's £20 "always-on" offer.

Could you suggest anything better?

Because I will be there only limited time, I am looking for pay-as-you-go only.

Thank you

GiffGaff forbids the use of their standard phone SIMs in tablets, dongles or MiFi devices. They'll cut you off if you do it.

Your best option by far would be to get a one month rolling SIM from Three with All You Can Eat phone data, 30GB of tethering, 200 minutes and unlimited texts. It can only be used in a phone, however. If you run out of the tetherable data you can buy add-ons which for example are £8 for 6GB.

You say that you'd like to avoid a contract, but Three does allow you to set usage caps and controls on your spending.

Three also appear to take anyone on (on their one month SIMs, that is), regardless of their credit history. I got accepted for this exact plan four months ago and my credit rating is truly abysmal! I got it when it was £23 but I believe it's now £26 on a one month contract.

To back up my last comment, if GiffGaff even did allow their SIMs to be used in a dongle like you intend to do, then your speeds will probably be limited to GPRS anyway, because in the countryside O2 really sucks (for 3G data).

Stick to an MBNL based network like Three or EE and generally speaking, you'll get HSPA as a minimum.

okay then, I will go for 3 or EE. Thank you
