Sorry if this has already been discussed but has he left or not? Is it just a long term break?

I think he has gone on extended paternity leave, I reckon he'll be back within 3 - 4 months maximum.

He will be back, like Adam Fielding.

I guess he'll realise eventually that he can't live with the idea of never seeing his kids again and come back to face the music. Even if the worst came to the worst he'd get out of prison sooner or later and see his kids, but it won't come to that because I'm sure Robert and Aaron will bring Chrissie down sooner or later.

Why don't you ask him? He's taking questions on the Emmerdale twitter account right now (8pm).
Spoiler

Sadly I think we're only free of Slugden temporarily. But we and Kelvin Fletcher can all enjoy his time away.

He said it was just a break? How come the DS interview is about him leaving?

I hope not, I want him and Robert to get revenge on Chrissie. Hate her.

We were told someone connected to Home Farm would be leaving the show, and the way he's been talking in interviews etc, I''d say he's intending for It to be permanent.

Yeah, whether or nor he will be begging to come back like Danny Miller in a couple years, I reckon it is intended to be a permanent exit.

It doesn't feel very permanent unless Robert fails to prove Andy's innocence, therefore leaving Andy unable to return to England for the time being. It feels a bit Stacey Slater at the moment. Janine stabbed herself, called the cops and that was what led to Stacey doing a runner for four years.

That was intended to be Stacey's permanent exit too. Only Lacey like so many others and no doubt Kelvin too failed outside of soapland to get work so returned.

DS get their interviews from Emmerdale Press office, not from the actors. He's on This Morning tomorrow.

In his interview it is very clear he has left completely. He speaks at length about how long the process to decide to leave was and how difficult it was and how only a few of the cast knew. He talks about his excitement to try new roles/challenges in his life.

Also considering the fact Louise Marwood has just signed a new contract with Emmerdale for a further year indicates quite strongly that she is not going to be getting her comeuppance any time soon.

It's likely Andy may return one day but I'd say it will be a couple of years or at least a year before he does.

It seems like a temporary exit to me, there's just too many loose ends. Though saying that the actress that plays Chrissie has just signed a new contract so she's not going anywhere soon. Maybe we'll see Kelvin gone for a year to be with his new baby and then come back.

How the hell did he just walk into the cab of that Lorry. As if they would let a pretend murderer on board

Love that video.

Why can't they let Victoria look that lovely in the show?

Because Robert had arranged it.

Did you think they just thought 'This'll do. Let's chance it.' when they saw the truck pull up?
