He was certainly not easy to interview but Emma did not put much effort into it in my opinion , she could of humoured the daft deluded lump a bit instead of glaring at him and asking pointless questions

Rylan will be much better , he is a true professional and can handle the housemates much better

Emma in the last couple of series showed little enthusiasm for the show , just like Davina to worth the end of BB on channel 4 .

She should be consistent. I prefer the harsher interviews but sometimes she treats certain housemates with kid gloves and other times she'll completely roast them.

She was unfairly vicious with Chloe and is often this way with young, attractive females.

Be consistent, that's all most of us want.
I don't think Emma was unfair and definitely not vicious with Chloe, she gave a great interview! One of her best!! Poor Emma just can't win with some of you guys!

As I've said, my issue is consistency. If she's going to do harsh then that's fine, just apply this approach to all housemates and not just the ones you personally dislike.

And harsh interviewing does not mean lecturing which is what she did with Chloe.

For someone who supposedly can't stand Bear ,she talks about him an awful Lot ....The whole bloody interview revolved around him and her trying every which way she could to get him to Bad Mouth Bear ,and becoming pissed off when he wouldn't

What do you expect, Chloe acted in a disgusting manner, did you not see what Eamon Holmes said to Chloe on 'This Morning'? He was no different to Emma!

Emma didn't let Heavy off the hook either!

I thought this was the worst thing she said.

Impartiality is important because this is a show where the viewing public are paying to vote for their winner. If the host is referring to a group of HMs as the nice HMs (and the resulting suggestion that another group of HMs are not nice) then that could influence voting which imo is not on.
Precisely. The interview is supposed to be about what Heavy D thinks from his perspective. His thoughts, his opinions.
It's not supposed to be a place where Emma tells evictees what they ought to think. That entirely corrupts the idea of what an interview is for.
If it's about what Emma thinks then there is no point asking Heavy D questions. Emma can tell us what she thinks is right or wrong without Heavy D even being there.

She reminded me very much of Davina!

I've seen this week people saying that Emma should be sacked and Davina should come back because she'd be impartial (in response to Emma's rant) - people seem to have idealised Davina to the point of forgetting that she would often show bias towards or against housemates much in the same vein as a viewer or a BB fan would, rather than remaining impartial at all times.

It's always been the way of BB - the presenters have never been just bland, impartial interviewers.

So long as Emma keeps trending by showing bias, she'll probably keep doing it, probably even with producer approval.

Are you thinking that Davina's bias was in line with fans'?

Emma asked leading question after leading question. She wanted to point out that he had been an annoyance. She wanted to point out that he wasn't really accepted or liked. She wanted to point out that Bear was using him after Chloe left. She wanted to point out that he hadn't been funny or entertaining and so on and so on.

I believe she could easily have got him talking if she hadn't been on her personal mission to belittle him. We learnt nothing and it was not a comfortable interview. Well done Emma.

When they have left the house she doesn't need to be impartial. I like it when she has an opinion.

She knows Heavy D has helped ruin this series so understandably is not a fan. It is such a relief to see him go.
actually he hasn't helped to ruin it at all. Her employers have though as they are the ones that let so much slide.

I never understand why Emma gets grief for her interviews. People would give her more of a hard time if she didn't grill certain evictees. She's A LOT more impartial than Davina was.

Unfortunately, that's what Emma does again and again, and what Davina did too.

But some people were praising Emma to the skies when she did it with Chloe, and many seem to be liking it with Heavy too.

(I wonder what they'll think if she turns it on a HM they like.)

Yep, loving the new Emma. A total turnaround of my opinion of her, it is really good to see her giving some well deserved criticism to evicted housemates and holding them to task for their actions.

I hope she continues in the same vein.

I think she has had enough of this series already, probably feels the same way about it as the active-brained viewers do.
What's new about it? Emma's always been biased and has always voiced lots of her own opinions. The only thing that changes is how many people agree with her or not.

What has you thinking she's more impartial than Davina?

In any case, Emma's not consistent. She grills some, fawns over others.

Now we know that he didn't even know her name or who she was in the ad break, one might expect her to be rather frosty

ETA: I'm kidding, if anybody thinks otherwise

Emma is trying to choose her words carefully about Heavy to avoid getting more shit on twitter. I'm assume that's a reference to her rant last eviction which I cheered.
