So skeptical, tsk

why can't we just take a handsome man at his word these days lol

Aubrey is just playing a game like the rest of them, trying to embarrass and catch people out, and make them look bad to the public, we are onto her, little america sass pot
what handsome man would that be,,certainly not Bloor..

Now Ricky is a handsome fellow.

Well, the simple answer to that is, buy outside of London. That makes sense.

This, or share a rented place in London, you can save more quickly for a deposit this way.

Or commute. Hundreds do, every day.

If you earn over 100k a year you can get an interest free mortgage, banks favour the rich.. So unfair.

Actually it is incredibly difficult to buy in london for young people, my son is on a six figure salary and he is finding it hard to save for a deposit and pay rent in the mean time and have any kind of life.
I know, life's a bitch sometimes isn't it. £1,260 a week doesn't go far these days.

I'm pretty sure Lewis has earned a decent amount of money - just depends how he chooses to spend it.

Even a good London salary won't last long, especially if you're buying made to measure jeans. Lewis mentioned he gets his jeans custom made, which must cost a pretty penny. Would suggest his lifestyle eats into whatever he does earn.

If he was canny he would have tucked some his earnings away and he'd probably have enough to look after his mum and slap down a decent deposit on a flat for himself.

But he comes from the immediate gratification generation - can't be bothered to work hard, wait and save up. Everything has got to be done easily and straight away.

Lewis wasn't a 'minor' character in Towie, especially when he was dating Lauren Pope. He also had a big storyline with Diag's girlfriend, Fran. Towie isn't like GS which only has about eight main characters - it has at least twenty and how much they feature varies from season to season.
He was also absolutely horrible on that. Called Lauren an old bit@@ and the girl he was seeing a feckin sl@@ just because she wasn't answering his phone calls. He's a nasty individual and left TOWIE because everyone hated him.

Didn't he choose to go to College after he left TOWIE? I think that, whether we like him or not, that's admirable - to choose education, presumably with a goal of doing something with it, or not - so many people go into further education and don't use it beyond that (or have the opportunity to use it in these employment climes).

he's renting and hasn't saved up enough for a deposit, blimey celebs are not as well off as they used to be are they?
From my memory his parents already have a house near Mark Wright's parents - from memory there was a Christmas rivalry story between the two families on TOWIE years ago - so he is telling serious porkies......

Had to laugh when he came out with the old 'I'm only doing this so I can buy my dear old Ma a house' shtick. I'm pretty sure she's already got a very nice semi, which is probably mortgage-free by now - as seen on TOWIE during an episode, involving the Bloor family and another (can't recall who now), in which they were trying to out-do each other by decorating the outside of their homes with Xmas lights a few years ago.

Does anyone else remember it?
Just saw your post - glad I am not the only one who remembers that......

Not if you have to work in London it doesn't.
Oh please... My husband works in Canary Wharf and we live outside of London. There's a thing called public transport, it's amazing! You can get the train right in to London...

Of course. There are excellent train links into every part of London, the fares ain't cheap but you get a much bigger salary in London. [In fact, I think the poster said her son was on a "six figure salary" .. ]

Both my husband and daughter work in London and neither live in London. They commute.

Plus you get a far more substantial property for your money living outside of London.

Lewis looks like a Dutch, speedo-wearing portrait artist who enjoys picnicking, 90's pop music and bicycling.
