EE: Are the becoming desperate for Denise?
Is it just me that feels like they are just becoming desperate with her these days?
That whole Fatboy stuff was cringey enough but now we have this Kush stuff. They seem to be so desperate to give her stories that they are just awful and cringe to watch. I honestly am beginning to think she has ran her course now and unless the bring one of her daughters back full time...she may as well be axed. |

Desperate storylines for a bitter, jaded, thieving, violent, alcoholic thug. Denise is one of life's scumbags.

Denise works well with 'younger men'. Her fling with Fatboy was a success and I think they realised Denise needs some happiness/have some fun. I love Denise and Kush and they have fabulous chemistry.
I hope they don't axe Denise because Diane P is one of their finest actresses and it would be a shame to lose her, in my opinion. Apparently Denise might be pregnant with Phil's baby and if the rumours are true, she will be linked to the Mitchells. |

Denise is deadwood. The only reason she's still there is because the actress is good.
But the character has been drifting for years. |

Firstly, would people find the storyline 'cringey' if it was an older man and younger woman?
The storyline is good. Denise and Kush work really well together. Denise had her fling with Fatboy but she hasn't had a proper relationship with a younger man. I think that it's a good direction to take Denise. She needs some happiness! |

I think Denise is fab and I feel her relationship with Kush is believable, far more than the episode with Fatboy.
I love the actress, the character and I have a feeling Denise is going to be flung into the full drama of the square later this year. |

Denise is a fabulous, biting character played by a brilliant actress. The problem is that the writing for her is noticeably weak because Alex Lamb and DTC do not/did not have a clue what to do with female characters outside of ~baby drama~, and Denise is an isolated figure on the square because her main family are Kim, who has a family of her own, and Patrick who is not in the show enough to make an impact. Sometimes they hit upon something that works - like her chemistry with younger male characters - but most of the time they don't have the originality to come up with a story that works for her. That's why she'll inevitably be saddled with Phil Mitchell's baby, because that's literally all they could think to do with her.

She's a long serving cast member, the writing just needs to improve

The Mitchell brothers were about 10 years older than Sharon. Kush must be about 12 years younger than Denise. What's to cringe at.

Absolutely nothing vald. They're both consenting adults so it's not ridiculous or cringy in the slightest. Both actors have great chemistry too

Her and Kush actually make a brilliant pairing. They have chemistry which is the most important thing.

I'm enjoying their chemistry, but why can't she ever be given a proper relationship, where she doesn't feel the need to act ashamed and secretive about everything. Even the encounters she enjoys are fleeting secrets...followed by shameful flings that must be kept hidden forever. Why the refusal to give her a proper public relationship.
Why do they write her as denying her feelings, then regretting every encounter, acting like she doesn't deserve to be wanted, and keeping everything a secret. Hopefully after Monday.. her taking the lead and making it clear she wants kush, she'll take a more confident approach to the whole thing. |
