Carter Axings- EE
Do you think any of the Carters could be axed under Sean O'Connor?
Mick, Linda, Shirley & Babe would survive if it was me in charge. Kellie Bright is going on maternity leave though. Lee & Tina would be axed and Johnny's character needs a major overhaul. Although not a Carter I would keep Whitney but move her out of the Vic. |

I want MyJohnny back do the Sam-Mitchell treatment.
Tina I think will be axed. Slyvie and Babe I also think will go. Hopefully Elaine is killed off. I also hope he axes Mick but that won't happen. He needs to see Lee get better storylines. |

He could definitely do something with Tina, make her interesting.
I'd like to see Zsa Zsa return as well. Other than that, I don't want any of the carters axed since it feels we just got to know them.. Sylvie will probably go soon though. |

I hope he doesn't axe any of the Carters. They are a successful family and there is a lot more they can do with them. I'm going to miss Linda during Kellie's maternity leave but I'm pleased she is coming back next year. I can't believe it's been nearly three years since their debut.
Shirley and Tina need to be more involved with the family and I hope O'Connor has big plans for them. |

Except for Shirley I would axe the lot of them. They bring nothing to the show anymore they are dull dull dull.

Tina will inevitably be written out. I'd axe the awful new Johnny as well.
I would keep Mick, Linda, Shirley and Lee. |

I think Tina's time is up, Sylvie too.
Mick, Linda, Shirley, Lee, Whitney and Johnny living in the Vic. Babe living elsewhere as a megabitch |

They are brilliant in the Vic. Mick Carter is a strong central character. Giving Mick and Linda a strong marriage amidst the endless bed hopping that goes with other characters was a masterstroke imo. Something would be lost if one of them strayed imo.
As someone who was attracted by them, they ARE the Vic to me. Johnny does need a overhaul though. A strong storyline to propel him...he's too..'perfect' or 'clean' to me if that makes sense. |

It would be pretty stupid of the new producer to come in and axe a load of them. This forum isn't generally reflective of the wider public where they're still a popular family and have been since they were introduced.
With that said the writing for them hasn't been great for a while so hopefully one of SOC's priorities will be to fix that. Mick in particular needs a lot of work; the Nancy storyline and his current treatment of Lee don't paint him as the sympathetic family man he was when he was when he first came into the show but rather a weak and childish individual. He needs a storyline that really tests him and hopefully when Linda is away it will be the making of his character. The writing for them needs to stop going round in circles; they can't keep doing the 'What's wrong L?' storylines that DTC was so fond of. When they write for Johnny and Lee, they actually need to write for THEM, not for Mick and Linda who always end up as the main protaganists whatever happens with the family. I would keep Mick, Linda, Shirley, Lee, Johnny and Babe and I would keep Lee and Whitney together. Lee gets plenty of criticism on here but I find him to be a sympathetic and believable younger male character and I feel there's a lot they can do with him. Johnny is in desperate need of proper characterisation because he simply hasn't been written as anything other than a spectator so far, but despite that he has a lot of potential, especially as he's training to be a lawyer which opens up tons of storyline opportunities within a few years time. He also needs a big relationship to get the fanboys and girls hot under the collar. People on Twitter and Tumblr are desperate to see this happen for him and while I don't think SOC should be actively chasing any type of audience, it can't hurt to have some vocal support through these types of channels. Babe could be redeemed, I think, or at least made a BIT less evil, and I'd rather she was as Annette Badland is such a brilliant actress and it would be a shame to lose her. I think people generally agree that Mick, Linda and Shirley are working and I do agree though as I said before, I think Mick's character needs better planning for. I'd get rid of Tina when Sonia leaves, and make Sylvie recurring only like Elaine currently is. Those types of larger than life characters work in small doses. Buster is already going but I'd have got rid of him as well. Don't get me wrong, I definitely think the Carters need work, but when you look at the state of families like the Beales, the Masoods (or just the one Masood ) and the Brannings, it seems pretty silly to me to axe a load of members of a family that actually still function as a family.

Although not a Carter I would keep Whitney but move her out of the Vic. Lee has made improvements, I love Whit with them. I think it's unfair to judge Johnny as he's not really been given a story. I would like nice Johnny to have two sides to his personality. Tina however should be killed off and i'd bring in Zsa Zsa Carter. |

Babe should take a break and then return.
Lee/Tina to be axed. Sylvie to leave. Johnny is a difficult one, Sam Strike was so good in the role but Ted Riley is not cutting it as Johnny. I am not sure if it is the writing or him as an Actor but I would give him more time- he should have a love interest or a proper storyline because he is just floating right now. |

I would get rid of Babe, but I have a feeling she is going anyway.
Tina I think should go, but only for a break and return after about 6 months, let her go off do something interesting off screen so that she can come back with a decent story. Linda, we she will be gone for the next 6-12months ... and I think Mick should go with her! The pub can be managed by Shirley to give her a real purpose. As for the kids, Johnny needs development, give him a decent story and a relationship, make him more than just a barman! Lee and Whitney should move out of the pub, this will give them breathing space from Mick and Linda and I think they will become good characters. |

Babe can take a break like Cora has and return to create more havoc.
Annette Badland may have other projects lined up but she is so good I would love to see her back. |

I wonder if Sharon will co run The Vic with Mick when Linda is away? Shirley may not like that.
