I once created my own soap. Created storylines and characters and was quite proud of it. I am going to start uploading every couple of days each months worth of storylines, as I always envisioned it to air just twice a week at first.

THE AREA
Just outside of Manchester, Middletown is mainly a council-esq estate with mainly two-up, two-down houses in a cul-de-sac and some flats at the end of the road. There would also be green grass surrounding the area that isn't taken up by the road.

THE CHARACTERS

Colin & Carly Webster:

Brother and sister. Colin is 22 and Carly is 17. They have lived there their entire lives but their dad, Tommy and stepmum Juliet currently live across town in nearby Rocky Vale.

Lisa, Noel, Steven and Claire Wilson:

Lisa, 45, and Noel, 39, have been married for 11 years but was together before hand for even longer. Claire is 16 and Steven is 15. Noel has also just bought and renovated the local restaurant to run as a business for both him and Claire. They have also only recently moved into the area after Noel bought the restaurant.

Jack and Laura Willis:

Brother and sister. Jack is 18 and Laura is 16. Their parents both died only months before in a car crash. They got left the house by their mum and dad and Laura has always struggled since the death of their parents.

Ryan and Bryan Adams: (original names I know )

Brothers who both work together in the local pub "The Red Cock". Ryan is 18 and Bryan is 20. Bryan is the more cocky of the two, Ryan is more shy and considerate.

Helen, Katy and Victoria Cartwright:

All three are sisters and moved to Middletown to go to the local university (which isn't seen, it's just presumed to be near.) Helen is 18, Katy is 20 and Victoria is 22. They moved into the student halls at the end of the street.

Mike and Julia Carey:

Father and daughter. Mike's wife and Julia's mum left 5 years ago and Mike has raised her up on his own since. Mike is 45 and Julia is 16. Mike works in a garage down the road.

Other one off characters:
Robin Billings (22) - trouble maker but best friends with Colin. Likes to split other family and friends up.
Sally Gallagher (17) - Typical blonde hair, blue eyes good looking girl who has used her looks in life so far. But what of her brains? Best friend with Kayligh
Kayligh Knight (19) - Is kind hearted. Doesn't let anyone down and always looks out for her friends. Is she being taken advantage of?
Elisha Langley (19) - Girlfriend of Colin's but for how much longer?
Alex Mohammed (19) - Asian student who also lives with the Cartwrights. Is kind and wouldn't hurt a soul. Is that a good thing?
Kevin Bell (25) - Student who has something to hide and when he sets his sights on something, is determined to get it done.
Sarah Michelle (18) - Another student who lives in the halls with the Cartwrights.
Liam Lennon (18) - best friends with John, also scheming with him
John Simpson (18) - Same as above.

Another other added characters will be mentioned when they are added.

How I will be doing the episodes are in highlights from an omnibus. It may jar and if so, please let me know so I can change the layout of the episodes. Also, please feel free to comment and let me know what you think of the soap and the idea in general.

AUGUST

Colin and Elisha meet up with Robin in the town centre, just outside where the new restaurant is being furbished. Sally then turns up and then her and Elisha separate from the boys as Robin tells Colin how he's sure Sally fancies him but Colin is unsure. Kayligh then meets up with Sally and Elisha and they all agree to go Manchester for the day to go clothes shopping.

Jack and Laura stop by the pub and meet up with Ryan and Bryan. Ryan and Bryan talk about Jack and Laura's parents but Laura storms out, not wanting to know as she still hasn't come to terms with their death. All three of Ryan, Bryan and Jack just stay in the pub getting drunk.

Lisa and Noel argue over placing of furniture in the restaurant. Lisa then tells Noel, as it's due to be opened next week, they still need to decide on the menu. Noel just tells her it's ok and everything will be fine.

Liam and John are walking around town late at night and spot someone leaving the restaurant with some chairs and a broken window. They can't see who it is clearly but suspect that it might be someone they know. But who?

Carly helps with in the restaurant after becoming friends with Claire, Julia is also there to help after someone had stolen from them. Carly, Julia and Claire then leave and bump into Colin and Robin. Robin tries it on with both Claire and Julia but both turn him down.

Ryan and Bryan have a drinking competition with Jack and go overboard. This leads us to the opening night for the restaurant to which Noel went with the name "El Spanish Mambo" as he decided to do mainly Spanish food. However, the opening night is ruined when Ryan and Bryan turn up drunk and end up breaking some chairs. The press have a field day with the opening night problems.

Colin confides in Robin that he thinks he's more attracted to Claire than Elisha despite only really seeing her once. Robin tells him to just go and get her and "to hell with the consequences." This is all the while that Robin is eyeing Sally up more and more.

John and Liam come across the stolen chairs and take them back, the police get called by Noel and they are arrested but then released due to lack of evidence. They maintain they are innocent and vow to prove this.

Carly spots Laura alone and talks to her. Laura then takes what Carly says the wrong way about moving on and storms off after slapping her. She then sits with Jack afterwards and tells him that one day, Carly WILL pay.

SEPTEMBER


It's Freshers week at the university as the Cartwright sisters, Alex, Kevin and Sarah go out and get drunk. While they are out they meet up with both Ryan and Bryan who have a little bet with each other over who can pull one of the new students. Over the course of the night, the group go from pub to club and end up back at the flats that Katy and Helen share and this is where Ryan ends up going to bed with Helen and so wins the bet of a free nights' worth of drinks. Sarah and Alex share a drunken kiss but nothing more and Sarah instantly declares how much she likes him but he doesn't want to know. This makes it awkward for the rest of the month between the pair of them. Kevin just went home to bed and ignored everyone else.

Noel and Lisa have their biggest fight yet, this results in Lisa packing her bags to move away to her friends in Rocky Vale. This leads Noel to be short in the restaurant and employs both Colin and Robin. However Robin turns up late on his first day which is just the start of Robin's downhill slide.

Carly starts to date Steven but Noel isn't happy. This leads to an argument between Noel and Colin who is on Carly and Steven's side as saying they can date whomever they want, Noel then threatens to sack him but Colin just quits. Leading Noel to employ Jack before the end of the month instead.

Robin tries his luck with Sally once again and she agrees to just one drink with him. However, when he buys her the drink he drugs her drink with a rape-date drug and then takes her home and proceeds to rape her at her flat. The next morning Sally kicks Robin out of bed and shouts about how he raped her but he just says she was up for it as much as he was. Sally then proceeds to wash herself as much as she can and then throws out her bedding and clothes she wore the night before. Kayligh can't get an answer on her phone or at the door. Once she does, she is shocked by just how bad Sally was looking and then calls Julia to help her talk to Sally and find out just what is up.

Liam and John end up having a strange cocktail at the pub which leads to them having a drunken brawl outside to which Liam ends up in hospital. Claire starts her first year in 6th form, then after her first day steals from the local shop. Laura mugs Carly and then burns her purse and everything that was inside it.

During a heartbreaking scene at the end of the month, Sally confides in Julia and Kayligh at Julia's house after she finally braves leaving the house. Sally refuses to go to the police and Kayligh and Julia just sit with her. However, what they don't realise is Mike overheard them. Mike then leaves and finds Robin and demand he hands himself into the police but when he says "I didn't do anything as Sally wanted it as much as me. Why does this bother you anyway? Do you wish you'd got there first?" then with his cocky arrogance he tells Mike "Try your luck, she's going to be up for it you dirty dog. She's good in bed" and then winks. Mike then proceeds to beat him up and leave him for dead.

OCTOBER

Kayligh and Julia out Robin and shame him in front of everyone including Colin but Colin originally takes his side believing Robin's version of events rather than Kayligh and Julia's second hand version. This leads to Colin and Elisha having their biggest argument and split up. Colin instantly sets his sights on Claire but decides to do nothing straight away.

Claire gets caught and arrested for stealing from the shop and then released. Noel isn't happy but Claire uses that her mum left as an excuse for her stealing which results in Noel ringing and getting Lisa to come back home. When she does, Lisa and Claire end up arguing and Claire leaves. Claire, feeling sorry for herself, just sits in the town centre and Kayligh goes over and, after a coffee, they become friends.

After all the students go on another night out, Kevin and Alex fall out and argue. This leads to the night ending early as Kevin storms home. Alex and Sarah are the only ones to stay out and even end up sharing a take-away together. The next day and Alex and Kevin fall out again as Kevin states he really doesn't like him.

Colin tries to get Carly to become friends with Robin again but she refuses after what happened with Sally. Sally then starts to secretly self-harm as a way to control everything after what happened with Robin and still feeling dirty and alone despite Kayligh and Julia trying to help. Sally's mum Nicole even tries talking to her about going to the police but she refuses saying it's too late as all the clothing and bedding is gone.

Noel and Lisa end up arguing again and it leads to Noel moving out and into the restaurant. Lisa is so upset that Mike visits her and, after a few drinks, Mike comforts Lisa and then one thing leads to them sleeping together. The next morning, they both start to regret it due to Lisa and Noel still being married.

After everyone but Colin really start siding against Robin after what happened with Sally and it leaves him as an outcast, this leads to him gathering even more resentment for everyone. He even ends up leaving Middletown and nobody knows where he's gone. This even starts to lead Colin to believing that Robin may well be guilty and did rape Sally as he wouldn't leave otherwise.

Liam and John come up with a get-rich-quick scheme by writing to the lottery for a grant to start their own record company called “Middle of the Town Records”.

Helen misses her period and confides in her sisters that it has to be Ryan's as he's the only one she's slept with. After they all come to terms with the news they agree to help her.

Jack catches Laura taking stuff from the house and then sees her burn it and can even see an evil look in her eyes as she does. He then persuades her, after talking to her, for her to see a councillor fearing she is becoming a pyromaniac.

Carly and Steven carry on their relationship and it reaches the point where they lose their virginity to each other.

Alex starts to receive race hate mail through the post, though it isn't stamped which leads him to realise it must be someone he knows. He then starts to enclose himself in his room because of it and Sarah can't get him out.

NOVEMBER

Alex continues to receive more race hate mail through the post and doesn't know where to turn. It starts to worry him even more when he even finds a note in his room when he returns from a lecture. Sarah tries to talk to him about it but he refuses, even at one point blaming her for it and claiming that he knows it's her but soon calms down when he realises they wouldn't have kissed if it had been her. As Sarah gets more upset over the race hate mail Alex is receiving, Kevin tells her he really likes her and goes in for a kiss. After a quick kiss Sarah pulls away and tells him she can't because she likes Alex too much.

Helen takes a pregnancy test with her sisters waiting for the result with her. Helen then cries as the result is positive because she fears she has ruined her life and possible education because of it.

Robin returns with his cousin Mark. Mark tells people that the rape definitely isn't in Robin's nature and then they go back to Robin's house where his dad Jeremy is. Jeremy tells them both not to worry as they will soon realise how much of a liar Sally is.

Lisa and Mike start to have an affair as they become a lot closer. However, they end up having to put it on hold after Noel returns saying sorry and willing to change. Lisa makes her excuses to leave and carries on messaging Mike stating how much she loves him and wants to be with him.

Alex starts blaming Kevin for the race hate mail but Kevin tells him it's definitely not him and even the handwriting doesn't match so Alex agrees it wasn't him. He still won't go to the police as he says his family have never trusted the police after they framed his cousin.

Helen, along with Victoria, sees Ryan in the pub and Helen tells him she's pregnant with his baby. Ryan doesn't believe her and even yells that it can't be his as "if you're that easy to sleep with, it could be anyone's" Helen then slaps him and runs off crying.

After visiting the councillor, Laura talks with Carly and tells her she stole her purse and burnt it. Carly says it's ok as it;s obvious Laura is upset and this is the first time she's opened up to anyone about her parents death.

Liam and John hear back from the lottery and find out they haven't got the grant. Colin starts dating Claire. This despite Elisha trying to get back with Colin, he tells her straight to the face that he's found someone else and that they have drifted apart. Carly tells Colin it's a little weird due to her being with Steven. Colin tells her to calm down and the little argument they have is over.

Sally continues self-harming and keeping it a secret. She goes to leave the flat only to spot Robin in the distance and returns. This leads to Kayligh and Julia leaving the flat and going for a drink in the pub. They meet Bryan there and they both, individually, arrange to meet him the next day. When they do, Kayligh sleeps with him and then later on Julia does too.

Victoria sits with with Ryan in the pub and talks to him. During this conversation, it's revealed that Helen was a virgin before she slept with Ryan and that it has to be his baby. Because of this, he goes round to the halls and sits with Helen and tells her that he will be there for her and always will be.

Kevin turns up at an old warehouse and inside it's an underground political party event being held called "BFB" (or Britain For Britain). It's here he meets up with Robin, Mark and Jeremy. After they meet up, Kevin tells all three of them that Alex is onto him and it's only through him lying through his teeth and because he used his other hand to write the notes that he got away with it. Robin then looks him dead set in the eyes and tells Kevin, "Don't worry, I have a plan to get rid of him for good." As they leave, Mark and Robin drag Kevin to a pub they know that be ok for people like them and will only have "good British people there." As they turn around, Jeremy gets in his car only for it to blow up and kill him instantly. Robin loses it completely and blames the entire Asian population in Middletown for it and claims it was a terrorist attack by them. For the first time, Kevin and even Mark realise just how unstable Robin actually is.

NOVEMBER

After the death of his dad, Robin hides away in the house with Kevin and Mark and tells them somebody will pay. Both Kevin and Mark are a little unsure about all of this even though Robin, in his slightly psychotic way, persuades them that he's right and he sets forward his plan of action.

Julia and Kayligh find out Bryan slept with the pair of them the same day and both decide to come up with a plan to make him pay.

Helen then leaves the halls and into her own flat. Sarah, Alex and Kevin are all shocked until her dad Frank turns up. After a brief interrogation by Sarah and Alex, they soon find out Frank works with stocks and shares in London. Which is how he could afford all of their university fees and the flat for Helen. Victoria is jealous of Helen and is upset that their dad would buy Helen a flat but not her.

As Colin and Claire start a relationship, Noel isn't happy. Even though he keeps forbidding Claire from seeing him, she still meets up with him. When he tells Lisa she's so blase about it, due to her and Mike having the affair, that Noel feels he's on his own. Noel then threatens Colin and swears he even says "over my dead body will Claire date you. Saying that, I'd make sure you were dead first!"

Alex is walking home from university at night when he is jumped on and threatened by three men dressed all in black and with masks on. They beat him up badly, so much that he tells Sarah that he's going to leave. Sarah begs him to stay and but he refuses.

Just before Christmas, Colin and Carly leave to go Rocky Vale to see their dad and stepmum. Lisa, Noel, Colin and Steven all have Christmas dinner together, however Lisa disappears upstairs on her phone. Lisa then goes out and Noel goes looking for her and finds her phone upstairs. He looks and finds all the messages between her and Mike. He then storms out and finds them having a secret little Christmas dinner with each other in the restaurant. He walks in and punches Mike. Lisa then tells Noel it's over and has been for sometime as she no longer loves him.

Kayligh arranges with Julia for them to have the Christmas afternoon together, inviting Ryan and Bryan. It's while all four of them are at the flat that both Kayligh and Julia say they are both pregnant with Bryan's baby. After the shock sets in they both turn round and say it was a joke after he slept with the pair of them. Bryan then throws beer over the pair of them and walks out. Ryan stays and apologies to the pair of them before leaving.

Jack and Laura don't really celebrate Christmas due to Laura not wanting to and end up just having a night in cuddling up on the sofa. Elisha calls round and all three just watch films. Sally doesn't want to celebrate Christmas either because of what has happened to her and with Kayligh and Julia having their own plans, she feels left out and carries on self-harming.

Just before New Year, Claire goes to see Colin only to find out off Carly that he's not come back and he doesn't know if he will do due to how Noel treated him when they were going out. Claire goes home and hides in her room upset.

Robin, Kevin and Mark all sit in the house Robin has been left by his dad. Robin laughs and says that getting rid of Alex is only the start of it. It's then the camera pans to the wardrobe and shows three identical sets of clothes of all black and masks, showing that it was them three that beat Alex up.

JANUARY

Claire has a huge fight with Noel after finding out that it was his fault Colin hasn't returned, even to the point of stating she hates him and wishes he wasn't her dad. This is when Noel publicly states that Lisa would have agreed if she wasn't having an affair with Mike in the middle of the restaurant. This leads to Lisa walking out and stating she's moving in with Mike and Julia there and then. Mike is a little unsure about this but Lisa soon persuades him.

Liam and John set up a market stall in the town centre where you can exchange Christmas presents and for the first couple of weeks it's a massive success, especially with the students who have all returned. Well, all but Alex.

Sarah and Kevin get closer as she's missing Alex and even share a kiss, which then leads to them sleeping together but the morning after, Sarah confides in Katy that it was a rebound and that she only slept with Kevin because she misses Alex so much. Katy then tells Sarah that she should go and get him.

Robin then states with Mark and Kevin that he's got a date. He gets dressed up and meets up with Victoria. They have a nice date and even arrange for another. This is the most calm Robin has been since he raped Sally and Kevin is actually nervous that he might do it again as he's started to believe that Robin did rape Sally.

Meanwhile, Sally is watching the date from a distance and Carly bumps into her and talks to her. Sally breaks down instantly and they end up at Carly's. This is when Sally starts to really open up and then she goes to the toilet. After a while Carly goes to check-up on her and finds out that Sally has been self-harming because of the rape. Carly tells her to talk to Kayligh and Julia but Sally doesn't know if she can.

Jack and Laura go to the cemetery, it's been one full year since their parents died and Laura is finally coming to terms with their deaths. They died in a car accident.

Mark and Kevin, alone in the house together go looking for some headache tablets while Robin is out with Victoria again. It's while the pair of them are looking around the house that Mark finds a stash of date-rape drugs. He decides to not say anything and keeps them hidden. When Robin returns, Mark tells Robin he's leaving to go to carry on the "BFB" back home in Yorkshire. However, the truth is, he's actually leaving because he can't take the truth about Robin raping Sally.

Kevin and Sarah sleep together again and Katy is surprised when Sarah admits that they are now an item. However, Katy is already working on a way of bringing Alex back

FEBRUARY

Sarah and Kevin appear to be happy with each other from the outside. Katy carries on looking for Alex to persuade him to return. She ends up in Swindon where she meets him in the train station and talks to him. She tells him that her, Sarah and everyone else will get to the bottom of the race-hate mail and how much Sarah loves him. He's still unsure.

Kayligh and Julia talk to Bryan and all three agree a truce. They all then go to the pub and have a drink. It's while they are here Bryan tells them both about how him and Ryan will own the pub one day as they love the place so much.

Helen is out with Victoria when she collapses in agony. After being rushed to hospital, her sisters by her side and with Ryan rushing to be by her side, she gets told the awful news. She's had a miscarriage and she tells everyone that she wants time on her own to relax and she moves back home and out of Middletown. Ryan vows to always be there for her.

Carly, Kayligh and Julia manage to talk to Sally and after a chat where her self-harming is becoming more evident, they all chat and talk about arranging a holiday for them all as they all feel Sally needs to leave Middletown for a while.

Sarah and Kevin return back to the flat only to bump into Alex coming out of his room. Sarah runs up and hugs him and Kevin is instantly seething at seeing him back. This leads to Kevin making his excuses and goes round to tell Robin. Robin tells him to bide his time and Alex will soon leave again.

Liam and John close their market stall as nobody is using it now but they set about another scheme as John spots a girl he used to know from school who moved away years ago. Jack and Laura considering selling the house they grew up in and moving away to start again. Laura is the one pushing for the move as she wants a fresh start away from the pain of their parents death.

Sarah, after talking to Katy and Victoria, agrees to finish with Kevin. She tells him in the flat and he storms off. That night, Sarah sits with Alex in his bedroom and he tells her that Katy said she loved him. Sarah then tells him everything about how she feels and they agree to get together. By the time Kevin returns, Alex and Sarah are on the settee together watching a film. Kevin then storms back to his bedroom, even more determined to get rid of Alex for good.

Sorry for how long it's taken so long to update this. Been very busy.

MARCH

Lisa and Mike overhear Carly and Julia talking about a holiday how they are struggling to pay for a holiday. Mike and Lisa then offer to pay for it if they can come and Claire and Steven can join them. Carly and Julia talk to Kayligh and Sally about them joining and they eventually all agree to allow Claire and Steven to join them. Lisa and Mike then secretly start thinking of a more family oriented holiday.

John meets up with Hannah, the girl he used to know from school who he used to fancy. He manages to wangle a date and a job at the local radio station. Hannah, it turns out, isn't that interested in him and he isn't as interested in her as much as he thought he was. She starts dating Liam instead. Lisa and Mike then surprise Sally, Julia and Carly when they announce that the holiday is no longer one in Ibiza but, instead, in South Wales as they had arranged for some rock climbing and canoeing amongst other things.

Ryan hears about Helen's miscarriage and goes straight to her family home but only gets as far as her dad Frank. He tells Ryan to get out of there as Helen doesn't want to know. When Helen turns back up after going shopping, Frank tells her that nobody had been to see her.

As Mike and Lisa start arranging the holiday, Noel sees them together and this leads Noel to move out of the family home and into the back room of the restaurant. As news starts to spread of a holiday, Jack states to Lisa that him and Laura are definitely going on the trip. Before Sally, Kayligh, Julia and Carly knew: Katy, Victoria, Kevin, Elisha, Sarah and Alex also arranged to join them on the trip. Sally was nervous as she didn't really know Katy, Victoria, Kevin, Sarah or Alex and, with her self-harming, this almost led to her saying that she no longer wanting to go. Kayligh and Carly manage to persuade her to think about it much longer.

Alex is settling in back into university life and to life with Sarah until he returns home one day to receiving race hate mail again. This then goes to the next level the next day when Robin breaks in and smashes up Alex's room. He even goes as far as to scrawl racist writing on the wall in thick red paint. When Alex returned, he just rung Sarah up who come charging home from a drink with Kevin and sat with him as he cried. She tells him that they will finally find out who is behind it and make them pay.
