Cleaning kongs

Just wondered if there is a better way, I use a small bottle brush to get it clean as I can then stick it in the dishwasher. But still the tinier one isn't clean as I would like inside.

Big one no problem that is easy to get clean.

I just took out a kong the other day to fill up for one of my chi's and right at the bottom it was rank!!!! I need to get something to get in there and clean it properly. Mine is a small one too.

Yes as I said large ones no problem it's the teeny chihuahua size one I'm having problems with.

I'll have a look at them, I use a tiny bottle brush but it just doesn't get in the grooves enough.

They do a cleaning brush especially for Kongs, here's the only one I can find in this country though:

The bristles are meant to fit any Kong size, and the lid comes off to get to a smaller brush for the hole in the top of the Kong.

Fantastic thank you, odd when I emailed the Kong company they didn't suggest it, actually they didn't suggest anything as they never answered me

Interesting discussion! It's not something I've generally had a problem with. A good long soak in the sink, in hot water, or maybe from the kettle, with some fairy premium washing liquid tends to dissolve or loosen up whatever gunk is left behind which then washes away under a running tap.

I say fairy premium deliberately, as in my experience is really does meet it's claim of having superior soaking power!
