That's from last year, aggs. She must have had a change of heart, or done some more praying or something, because she appeared in the Autumn season of that year and the Spring one 2016 - and called off her engagement .

You've summed up exactly how I feel, it's very disappointing but not altogether surprising given that he fancies himself as an actor, makes sense he's prefer to be in LA.

Good luck to him but he better not come back knocking on Strictly's door when DWTS spits him out again.

I cant help but feel that if he were going to be a hit on DWTS, then it would have happened first time around.

I also can't imagine Stricly will have him back now after he's effectively chosen DWTS over them (and I believe that's the reason he left, nothing to do with family commitments). He's been very keen to appease his UK fans on Twitter, probably worried about his calendar sales being hit

I think both Gleb and Elena are very, very ambitious. I think he definitely sees himself as more than just a pro dancer on Strictly/DWTS or whatever it's called and wants to be famous, and he will do whatever it takes to achieve that.

Wee-eell, they've (likely) given him a 32 year old actress and singer who's beautiful, so I'm thinking they've got him earmarked for hunk status or at least the chance to make it happen. He's been saying the kind of stuff in the pre-publicity that will earn brownie points, too.

I think Gleb played a tactical blinder by doing DWTS Russia and SCD and making the most out of both opportunities. I don't like him using our show in that way though, so not queuing up for a calendar

Just because someone is young and beautiful doesn't mean they are going to be good, or that the public will warm to them I assumed Mischa Barton would be good last year. But she was awful

The only reason he left DWTS in the first is because his wife thought he was having an affair, and ran off with the child back to Russia. So he had no real choice but to go after them.

No, it doesn't, but I do think it's an indication of how TPTB (hope to) see things going.


My memory is hazy about Gleb's extra-maritals, but I thought he'd already been dropped by the time of the alleged affair, hadn't he?

He was a pro in S.16; in the troupe S.17; dropped for S.18 (Spring 2014). I may be wrong, but think he got up to no good in LA when he was twiddling his thumbs that summer...

I think you're spot on with that, he couldn't/wouldn't commit to SCD while there was a chance DWTS was on the cards.

This fiasco has actually put me off him, to choose that tacky spectacle over SCD speaks volumes about him and his so called 'priorities'. Mr and Mrs Gleb have got their pretty eyes on a much bigger prize than mere TV dancing shows.

And, quite frankly, to choose DWTS over SCD is a no brainer. They plough a lot more money in their show, pay their pros better and have a brilliant presenter in Tom B.

They may be OTT in so many ways but it's a far bigger 'stage' and with a much bigger audience. With Gleb's massive ego he needs a bigger platform, let's face it!

Yup. I've said in the appreciation thread that this is the almost certainly the 'indecissivness' that backstagone spoke of when it was originally announced he was let go. Strictly wanted him back, he said he'd only return if DWTS didn't want him and they told him where to go, and they were totally right to do so IMO.

He's also now getting a roasting on social media because DWTS fans think that Mark Ballas was dropped to make way for him. I hope this works out well for him, but honestly I'm not so sure.

Can we get Mark on Strictly? People always said they wanted Derek, but I've always prefered Mark. And he is half British after all!

Actually the audience figures are roughly the same now. DWTS is getting about half the viewing figures it was getting at it's peak, which is why ABC cut the Tuesday night results show to save money.

I'm not queueing up for a calendar because the promo shot is tacky and ... cheap.

I agree with the convo amongst you, VD and cavalli. Gleb's ambition is in the direction of the USA and he may want to try and make it in Hollywood. Good luck to him

Gleb and Elena need to make money over the next few years and the place to do that would seem to be the USA. If they can base themselves in LA and also do other things to make money then good luck to them. SCD needs to pay the pros more to make it worth their while to stay.

Maybe the US audience will love Gleb as much as he loves himself, who knows.

But when you look like that, how could you not love yourself?

No one loves Gleb as much as Olivia. I give Elena a run for her money for second spot.
