Weren't you watching - he was shouting loudly (some may say talking very loudly, but to me it sounds like shouting because it is so loud) and asking her questions but not allowing her to answer. She tried several times, but he wasn't interested in having her answer his points. She had to raise her voice to be heard, as she clearly said he wasn't allowing her to answer and yet he was saying she doesn't talk or opine. It's hard to in the face of somebody shouting in your face like that!
Yeah I did watch it, you can't out boom the boominator.

She didn't try to answer the questions, she tried to turn them around on him, like a shouty politician.

The technique for responding to a shouter is to almost whisper your response.

Yet I, who would fail in GCSE popular culture, knew who she was and I don't watch X Factor. I have no idea who he is or what he was on.
Same here! Apparently he's a market trader on some show or other - sounds riveting!

In the end, they were all chosen by the producers to appear, so they producers consider them all equally worthy of being on the show (whether we think so or not!) although they all get different fees depending upon status I think (or how good their management were at getting a good deal ). I imagine they pay them as little (or as much) as it takes to get a 'yes' from them.

It's not actually true though, and even if it was, it would be being famous for being a prostitute and being in adult films which depict in Katie's words "a 22 year old banging my 83 year old Grandma up the arse".

That's not really a winning comeback either way imo
Over your head.

I thought she did well. He's a vile, imbecilic oaf and she put him in his place.
To right she slam dunked the fat imbecile , what a ballbag he is and Katie stood up to him

Exactly. How keen they are to appear on TV will make a huge difference to their fee no doubt. I wonder which was keener Katie or Boom Boom?

I think Heavy would be keener as he thinks he has a career on TV, whereas she talked about finding it hard to come back to the UK and possibly have the past dragged up again.**

I think they would have had to pay her more to persuade her - she does have a career in radio already after all, it's not as if she's unemployed and desperate. Neither is he mind you (is his show current?), but I imagine he'd take less money to be persuaded onto CBB - I imagine he relished the idea.

Just my own personal thoughts, obviously.

ETA:**you've seen how unforgiving people are on these forums about peoples' pasts, I imagine it's a million times worse 'out there' in real world land

I agree. Heavy talked of being current. I have no idea if he is or not. I have no idea what he is other than what you told me. I guess if he can't stay on screen he has to go back to his 'barra'. I wonder which market he works at.

I only know the market thing because he did that thing early on in the show in the bathroom with Chloe and James where he showed them how he sells things

Is this the RTV equivalent of 'My dad's bigger than your dad'?

By a process of attrition presumably. I would buy what he was selling just to make him go away.

She didn't answer the questions or respond to his points, she deflected them, which is not the same thing. It is the equivalent of saying "I know you are, but what am I?" Or "Takes one to know one".

She also was very shouty (stooping to his level you may say), she may have said a couple decent points, but shouting rarely gets the point across, no matter how valid.

She would have 'slayed him' if she had remained calm and spoken to him in the say way as Ricky has in the past.

In all honesty they should have put Katie's Gran in the house instead.
BIB - They will next series.

I thought she did well for herself and certainly won both battles... Then again, to be engaged in a verbal confrontation with Heavy and fail would exceed mortification. He looks and sounds like an industrial sized deflating beach ball.
Aw I didn't think she did well at all - and I really wanted her to do better.

After such a long time of keeping her opinions to herself, this was EXACTLY the time to keep her opinion to herself; when she was being baited by an idiot.

Unfortunately she let herself down with 'F@ck off, f@ck off, f@ck off!' And losing her cool way too easily. She really played into his hands and didn't even come out of it looking the better of the two of them (apart from the fact that he was the aggressor).
