He's as handsome as an 19th century freak show exhibit.”
Really ott unpleasant.
3 points re Heavy D (my opinions)
1. He was not as unperceptive as people think (choose to think) and made some pretty sharp deductions & remarks at times.
2. Yes he demonstrated traits of being rather easily led, I'm generalising here but that quite likely stems imo from behaviours learned early on - ie needing to fit in, & probably by extension be the patsy of, leader-boys & school 'packs', to evade being turned on. It's the Lewises that create these kind of behaviours but the Heavy D's that go on to pick up the criticism, in my observation.
3. Even if you judge him to be less intelligent than any given benchmark - intelligence is a spectrum and where you are in that spectrum, give or take, is not of your own choosing. I never understand why 'stupid' is an accusation levelled at people as if that's something they opted into? You can improve your behaviour & learn of course but some skills will not be naturally at your fingertips.
Re the using his daughter in an argument - I understand why people thought it was a fair point of Katie's - but when it's done with that schoolteacher-y 'your mother should be ashamed of you' slant, it's never going to go down well, fair point or not. She was rather casting around for things to chuck at him and I agree with Jim-Bob5's earlier post here.
