Ch5 does not understood the potential of BB
What the producers have not grasped, is that Celebrity BB is about celebrities being themselves in a closed environment taking on challenges and unfamiliar pressures. What the BB fans look forward to is seeing and hearing, "known" celebrities being themselves, talking about life, their experiences and inspirations.
What we have now are reality characters playing the part they do in their shows. I know nothing about the Bear, Lewis etc as they might be in real life. They, and the other reality "stars" are just acting out the part they play and those that their fans love, nothing more and nothing less. It's like putting Steve Coogan in the house and telling him to play Alan Partridge, or Sacha Baron Cohen being Ali G. All that has changed for the reality stars is the setting, they merely act out their predictable roles. BB did much more than this current reality spinoff show would suggest. A missed opportunity!! |

...! You must be thinking about the days when the likes of Ann Diamond and Mark Owen were allowed to sit around doing nothing in particular. |

Channel 5 can't understand that the viewers just want to see actual celebrities sharing their experiences & telling interesting stories not ex show rejects, and then they wonder why actual most celebrities they ask don't want to do the show (ROLLEYES)

I think Ch5 understand their place in TV and understand the fans they want, They don't care about what some of the dedicated old school fans care about because maybe the majority of us will not stck around to watch 98% of there content.

I don't know if it's true because I don't watch many of the other shows.
I will say though, I did think Vicky Pattison acted her way through I'm a Celebrity last year and got everybody onside pretending to be somebody she isn't, so I can definitely see the possibility. |

Hms sharing managers, collusion between hms prior to the start and setup arguments and "Love " affairs. BB needs a new name to match the changed concept.

I wouldn't mind hearing more of the showbiz stories, but I suppose they have to be heavily edited for fear of slander claims etc.
Most of us only really watch it for the personality clashes and arguments and the occasional car crash TV moments when housemates go off their rockers having been taken out of their comfort zones and locked into that pressure cooker environment. |

It's not going to happen, barely any real celebrities are going to touch this BB with a barge pole, particularly on C5. The problem is real celebrities will have to maintain a certain level of behaviour whereas the reality lot with no careers such as Bear doesn't have to. They can do what they like, people expect them to behave badly.
Also, unless your skint why would you go in? It damages real celebrities careers, BB is seen as a joke show by the majority. |

The viewing figures are a fraction of what they used to be, but they are using it to advertise other shows, and trashy ones at that.

It all changed with CBB4. the pre-series hype was about Barrymore trying to resurrect his career.
Viewers preferred the unknown Essex girl romancing the little-better-known pop star (existing girlfriend expendable). |

Question- If the show was full of "proper celebs" who were ll playing it safe, all waiting for the pay cheque and not wanting to give anything in terms of entertainment would you be happy?
