Just curious to know. I think if someone said 'Our Sam' to me I would not have a clue who they are talking about.

I couldn't help but cringe.. No one outside of her own family would say that.

It's something someone would say about a family member, not a z lister

Reminds me of Leo Sayer who said the GBP were worried about 'their boy' after he had a car accident in Australia.

Of course, don't pretend you don't too. She's the nation's sweetheart.

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear the name 'Sam' is the song by Olivia Newton-John.

You'd be surprised at how successful she was actually, Touch Me was no1 in quite a few countries around the world, she had something like 7 top 40 hits in the UK and also managed 3 top 40 hits in America! 😱

At least Leo Sayer was a real celebrity, career spanning 4 decades. Didn't need to go on BB and truly couldn't care less about losing his fee when he broke out because he ran out of clean underwear.

She started when she was fifteen, the Sun waited till her 16th birthday before publishing. I wonder what jail all those men that leered at a semi naked kid back then are in now.

Joe Dolce had a number one with Shaddap Ya Face. He was never known as our Joe.

Pretty sure if you were the same generation as her and were asked to name a famous Sam, your first response would be Sam Fox. I'm 35, and if it was used in the right context i'd probably have a clue who you were talking about. "Our Sam" is a bit much, though.

Ooh - I can't remember The Goodies!! ? - Not the famous trio from the 70s surely?

The best ever CBB was the one with Pete Burns & George Galloway! - Totally different show back then!!

No, I mean Jade Goody and her mother.

I mean technically she was famous for being a reality TV star.

Yeah, but I'm sure it was the Leo Sayer season. I'm gonna have to google it.

Edit:

Yeah. It was.

So they did have reality TV stars in there back then.
