Do These Phones Generally Have Good Receptions? Which Ones Should I Avoid?
I'm looking at buying some phones on ebay for myself and family members too, I've only recently learnt that a phone having a bad reception could be more down to the phone itself rather than the network and its coveridge.
The phone's I'm looking at and thinking of buying are the Samsung Galaxy 3 and 4's, the Motorola G phones and maybe the Microsoft Lumia the 900 series or whatever the exact model number is. In your experiences do these phones have good receptions? In general which phones should I avoid? I currently have a Samsung Galaxy A3 and the reception on this phone isn't that good and is this down to the phone rather than the network(s)? |

Well I can give a +1 to the Moto G, I had the original one and currently have the 3rd Gen and reception is excellent, it also favours 4G a lot more over 3G and always holds onto signal. I can't speak for Samsung's as never had them.

My Samsung Galaxy Alpha has pretty bad reception, but then again my friends Galaxy S5 has very good reception. Motorola are generally very good from what I've heard. I haven't really tried any Microsoft phones though.
It's quite difficult to find info about this on the internet. But for my phones, my Samsung Galaxy Alpha is the worst for reception, my Sony Xperia SP is the best, and my iPhone is in the middle of those 2. Hope that helps a bit

Anything by Huawei / Honor should be a safe bet. Anything by Samsung should be avoided. |

Interesting topic... My iPhone 4s has a stronger signal than my wife's 5s so I'm thinking with making the phones thinner means a thinner antenna? Is this what they call progress?

I might add that the best mobile phone I had for call quality was a blackberry curve.

iPhone SE/6s are better than the 5s for cell reception.

Iphone 6/6s had the best reception for an iPhone so far, LG Gmail has an excellent reception too, but as CheshireBumpkin said, Samsung should be avoided, pretty curved screens but rubbish reception which means if you're in a margin coverage area you'll loose out significantly more then other on better phone, or find of your on Vodafone, OK or EE to a lesser extent, you'll get shoved over to 2g or 3g 900mhz more often then other phones..
No sure how HTC's and Sony phones stack up in this regard or if the new metal LG G5 is as good as the previous G4. |

Every handset is different even two of the same model can fluctuate wildly. Sonys seem pretty good

Mobile reviews test so many things, yet it seems the quality of both the mobile network and wifi reception isn't one of them...... |

On the LG G2-5 and Motorola G models, does anyone know if the phones work in most countries or is there any parts of the world where they may not work?
