I think the trolltastic comments come from all sides, that seems to be how this forum works. Threw me for a bit until I got my head around it.

I find this forum very tame. I mean that in a good way. It's refreshing.

I've actually been pulled up a couple times for comments that wouldn't bat an eyelid elsewhere.

As a Bear fan I can tell you theres been some very personal comments made on here recently.not directed at a particular poster but aimed in general at anyone who dares to support him.the usual stuff about morons and chavs...and the old chestnut about "real" BB fans...ive watched every series since it began so how im not a real fan I don't know.

Honestly, the crux of that is Stephen has been deliberately shown in a very nasty light, he is complicit in this too.
Consequently, some people saw his supporters as being equally mean, lacking in integrity and intelligence.

Now that I've realised BB is essentially dead and we're now watching a 'structured reality' show my view has changed. Stephen Bear as a person is abhorrent, Stephen Bear as a character playing a role is less so.
However, in order for things to be fair, all participants (the other housemates) should be in on the gag, not pawns and cannon fodder otherwise it is cruel behaviour from the producers.

They're going to make him a nicer guy as we approach the finish line, turn things around for him. Viewers will like that and vote for him to win which will serve ETOB (starting soon) very well.

It's just a manipulation of the viewing public, some of whom are happy to be played like a fiddle.

I have got the same responses when defending Bear and more than onCe I have had to ask that they keep to discussing BB rather than me personally.

Stephen Bear to win just to see the little flower Damon and the passive aggressive Lee_Bo go into a complete meltdown on here.

The difference is your comments are short and don't add to the conversation so they come over as empty and provocative. al_capo at least has something to say.

Me too...watched every c/bb since 2000. The Bear bashers seem to be genuinely offended by ppl who think he's amusing or by those who don't believe that Bear is collaborating with the producers. At the most, Bear may have agreed to portray a redemption arc with his agent but that's as far as it goes.

It's all good though. I'm not melting down any time soon. in fact I think Stephen should win this series, it's what the producers have wanted from the start.

Let them have their "I'm a Celebrity made in TOWIE on the shore" version of BB.

Is it spiteful? I'm just "keeping it real". His comments are short and that's how they come across (to me). I've only blocked one person and it was him. Needless to say he's unblocked now.

I've seen al_capo get abused for long posts and short posts, so it' does not matter about the length of posts, it's about the content and that content revolves around defending Bear.
It also depends on who is on the receiving end of the posts, with some on the board it doesn't matter what you post because you know anything you put up is not going to change some peoples mindsets.

Well I prefer discussing and debating but I'm happy to have a joust every now and then but I've got to have something to work with.
When people are being articulate and expressing their upset/distress and someone pops in with 'bear to win' it's not really adding to anything, it's just a prod.

Excellent post, totally agree. This has been the most annoying, tedious series so far. It's about time they mixed the public and "Celebrity" series together. Cos it ain't Celebrity Big Brother any more.

Didn't say it was, but as least it was designed to provoke a reaction and involve others. It was the whole thing acting with Frankie that made it HL worthy. It was still a WTF moment.

Bear To Win

What annoys me is that the anti-Bear brigade present their arguments in such a dogmatic way, usually referencing their superior intelligence at the same time. They claim to have specialist knowledge of the media and position themselves as experts who are enlightening the less media savvy and doing them a huge favour in the process.

I don't believe Bear is involved in some dastardly conspiracy with the producers. He's not trying to exploit the viewers. The edit usually favours him, but this doesn't mean they plotted it all out beforehand and wrote him a script of what to say and do.

Respect costs nothing please remember that.

Yes I agree. It's no longer the interesting social reaction and interesting experimental programme that it started out as. Just another Towie, Geordie Shore (insert your own trash TVShow). If I wanted to watch those shows I would. However they have infiltrated onto this show. I skipped BB and CBB for several years because of this. Thought I'd give it another go this year. But it's shit and will welcome its demise within the next few years. Shame.
