Lewnie, the beginning
Lee_Bo

Just a quick question, at the very beginning, when the show started, did Lewis and Marnie seem like they knew each other well?

Nobody knows......

They met when Marnie was engaged to Lewis' friend Ricky Rayment.

Thanks, yeah I know that bit. The part I'm interested in is how they acted when they first went in the house. I imagine they were quite good friends outside the house.

They were flirtatious from the first episode and clearly liked each other.

I'll have to try and check it out. Seems strange they didn't pursue the relationship prior to going in.

The reality scene is very incestuous!

Ricky Rayment, sounds like a total cock?

I literally know nothing of the man, or are you just going on the name?

I had a look at the second episode. They made out like they didn't know each other
"Compared to you I'm shy"
"You's making us laff already like"

I would have thought you'd know your mate's fiance relatively well, always seeing each other on nights out etc.

Seems odd. Question answered though!

They probably were attracted to each other prior to going in the house but that doesnt mean that their relationship now is FAKE.

They knew each other prior to going into the house.

Despite this they pretended not to know each other on the first day, hence the whole thing is obviously a set up.

They can't even get through a full sentence without holding in their laughter!

Have you not watched their long whispered conversations during the Live Feed every night? Lewis takes off his microphone and you have to turn the volume up to 50 to even hear what he's saying. It's usually about how they're going to cope outside the house.

They didn't pretend they didn't know each other on the first day. All the reality stars know each other. Maybe they'd even hooked up before, although she had been linked to her co-star Aaron for months before CBB. There will be a lot of disappointed Maaron fans if she gets serious with Lewis outside the house.

Lee, I saw the link, but I knew that already from watching the Ch4 Live Feed of BB and then seeing how they edited unrelated moments together in the HL show the next day.

I rewatched launch night after Chloe dropped the Whatsapp bomb to see how she and Renee interacted. While watching I noticed that Bear, Lewis and Marnie all seemed a lot more familiar with each other than they let on.

Its interesting watching launch night with hindsight, just fast forward through most of it and focus on when each comes down the stairs and greets people.

Maybe they did know each other well on the outside... Perhaps they had feelings for each other then, but kept them bottled up and hidden away, even from themselves.

...I think perhaps sometimes all it takes for two friends to suddenly drop their guard, open up their hearts and admit that there were feelings there all along... is a house full of cameras, a million plus viewers and a pre-arranged OK magazine cover story.

But hey, I'm an old romantic.

I know you all find it hard to accept that anything a reality star does on camera is in any way organic, but please be sensible before you shout stunt at Lewnie.

What good will it do Marnie’s career to be linked to has-been ex-reality star Lewis? Her fans loved her with Aaron from GS and now they’re turning against her, which is why she was in the bottom two last week. If she wants to get serious with him, she’ll have to give up the highly lucrative GS like she did for Ricky Rayment. You can already see her slightly fighting the idea of a long term future with Lewis and having second thoughts if you watch the Live Feed regularly.

You mean previously knew each other and know that a showman increases your survival and media interest.

Not if you're already involved with a man from your very popular show and your fans are invested in that relationship, as was the case with Marnie and Aaron.

The Mirror article is from last September so if Lewnie were together then, why did she start dating Aaron? Maybe they hooked up then, maybe not, but it went nowhere at the time.

But GS is past its sell by date that's why they're all expanding their 'careers', having a showmanc attracts a new audience and wider public and media interest serving to make her more saleable to other outlets that may be weren't open to her being associated the GS alone. It's all premeditated and self serving, she would've never considered the likes of Ricky etc it doesn't suit her overall media portrayal. All of them are trying to reestablish themselves and Rebrand, and they know appearing on shows like BB or the jungle allows them to construct a more down to earth character which expands their bank accounts shall we say. Just look at Vikki p, that act was painful to watch, the high pitch voice, trying to speak better, play nice etc when we are all aware of her overall character. It's a formula that works for them, its just marnie and Lewis are disposable and false it won't wash with most people.

It quite irrelevant really whether her GS romance is real, it sells. As too her relationship with Lewis it doesn't need to be a long term gamble its working for her now. Neither of them seem to be committed to a future together its just for the present media coverage and financial benefits. Even returning to her ex after Lewis will attract more interest in a very tiresome show and give it some more shelf life. It's a win win for her. The same goes for Lewis, he gains financially from the media afterwards, increases his selling power and potential for investing in businesses, and wins over a new audience with gullible young girls that seem to be falling for his new found maturity and chivalry.
