dont ask me why, but now the news has broken that both Ronnie and Roxy will be leaving, i feel like Sam Mitchell will be making a fulltime return to keep the Mitchell presence in the square. AND i think it could work with Kim Medcalf (yes here we go again )
she is a capable actress and of all the obsurd things which have happened in the square of late it really would not be beyond the realms of possibility to have Kim back even though Daniella came back.
I can see her being able to merge the 2 sams well, and perhaps coming back with a Bitchy extieror and abit slapper-ish just to keep with the continuity of Danielle.
Lets face it, getting Danielle back was a BIG mistake, so i dont see why Kim cannot come back to rectify it.

Hopefully, but it better be Kim Medcalf. Axing Ronnie and Roxy for Daniella Westbrook would never be justifiable.

I think Courtney and Louise will take their place. But as Mitchell cousins of course.

I did wonder about this.

If it did happen it would have to be Danniella for me. The original and most well known. I didn't remotely find Kim believable as a Mitchell. It was like she was playing another character with the same name. Even when they tried to give her traits of the original Sam the way she played it and the anti chemistry with Phil and Peggy didn't sit right.

Its amazing how different people see things.
I thought Kim was very much like the 'original' Sam, just a matured version, Peggy found her dancing round a pole in a strip club for gods sake
I think after Kim it would have been unfathomable to bring Daniella back, but of course EastEnders has always been run by a long line of numpties so what's done is done, however when Daniella returned in 2009 I found her to be nothing like her original character in the 90s and nothing like Kims progression of the character ! It was ridiculous ,I would absolutely LOVE to see Kim back. She to me is Sam Mitchell now.

I hope to god it is not Daniella Westbrook, she is a atrocious actress and her stint back was awful.

It would be utterly pointless to get rid of R&R too bring back a even worse Sam played by DW, if it was Kim Medcalf I'd might be won over but DW's Sam is just dire,

I never saw the original Sam but I've seen some clips of Kim playing her and I like that version.

Danniella Westbrooke is awful. She is so unlikeable and her life is a car crash. She would be a producers nightmare I reckon so they would be asking for trouble bringing her into it again.

Please not no thank you very much no no no.

Not Daniella, not the preferable Kim, not even a third new face, no Sam, no new Mitchell, I conclude- No.

I really hated the fact Daniella came back after Kim's stint but Sam's character and storyline when she came back for Peggy's funeral was not that bad.

I could now stomach Daniella if they had a strong storyline and when finished have her leave rather than linger around like some characters.

Do people really rate Daniella Westbrook acting, like actually watch her and think it be good to have her back on screen full time.

The fact Danniela Westbrook was only brought back for less than a week tells you everything you need to know. Santer made the mistake to bring her back in 2009. Sam could've been off EE for years before possibly reaching out to Kim Medcalf to return, who could've been one DTC's big comeback characters in 2014. No way would anyone with half a brain replace Ronnie and Roxy with Westbrook's Sam.

As far as Mitchell females go, I wouldn't mind Courtney becoming permanent. The actress seems fairly decent and it's nice having a blood relative of Tiffany around. If she does go permanent, it would be interesting to see if they let her explore who her mum was. Tiff was an amazing character.

She's obviously not a strong actress* and I say that as someone who likes her as Sam. However, I find her competent/passable in the role. Sam is largely a supporting character, albeit an important one, so you don't necessarily need someone with great acting chops for her.

With R & R going I do see scope in a return. She is the original Mitchell sister and not part of a toxic dynamic like R & R are i.e. tied down to a controlling sibling. Phil and Grant were protective of Sam but to nowhere near as stifling an extent and that wore off as the years went on anyway.

She isn't popular on here but Danniella gets a lot of tweets asking her to go back and she did well on Celebrity Big Brother. So I don't think it would be that baffling a decision if they did go for her in the event of a Sam return.

* - Tbh I never thought Kim was all that either. A bit better and more consistent maybe but not the amazing actress some make her out to be. Looking back at some old threads on here she was also mocked for her acting.

DW wasn't too bad on the last stint

Too much water to recast now

Sam isn't needed. And especially if it's going to be daniella coming back in. Kim Metcalfe is Sam Mitchell as far as I'm concerned, but I think just leave her character alone and focus on some new people.

Totally agree with you. Why oh why would anyone bring Daniella back? her recent stint proved the woman cannot act full stop.

No. They should bring back Courtney and Mark and together with Ben and Jay focus on the young adults. Rest the oldies for a bit, although Honey and Billy are OK.

Just kill the character off.

I would prefer Kyle's sisters. The next gen of Slater Sisters to replace the Mitchell Sisters.
