You are right. Both Bear and Chloe are selfish, empty shell people. That poor girl has had a lucky escape - shame she had to be humiliated and hurt in such a public way. She should comfort herself with the fact that Bear and Chloe will have each other, punishment enough.

Chloe seemed all right to me. Not my cup of tea looks wise, but a nice enough girl. She'd do well to give Bear a wide berth.
