I know no relationship John Paul has will ever be as epic and iconic as McDean, but I think his relationship with James has the potential to be just as good if the show takes its time and does right by them. I've got everything crossed!

Craig isn't really Matthew's dad though is he? He's not his father biologically and he's taken nothing to do with his from his birth.

They did the tests after JP came back, because Frankie wanted the child. The tests confirmed that Matthew is biologically JP's son.

No it didn't happen. Last May when they split up JP was around for the Pheobe shooting and subsequent death and then when they officially called it quits at Xmas he didn't leave. He wasn't in it but it was never mentioned that he left for Dublin. Craig and JP have had no contact since JP returned. Craig isn't even mentioned by JP anymore.

Matthew is biologically JP's as Frankie wanted custody and when Chloe came into it she said Craig was the dad so Frankie asked JP to pack Matthews stuff up and give him to her and he could see Matthew when he wanted but Danny did a DNA test and just as he was about to give him to Frankie he discovered he's his son. There's been no interaction with Frankie since tbh.

Can't wait to see JP and James bit in the opening credits. I'm a bit worried that I won't like them. I've seen pics of them and I can't say I'm impressed but it may change when I see them in full tonight.

Yeah.. the McDean break-up was an ugly one (thanks Kirkwood...) and they are not in contact with one another, so there's no way JP would go to Craig now, out of the blue. Whoever said that was just bullshitting! Hahaha

I like them. They are a bit cheesy though lol. JP is with Sally and Myra singing. James is with Marnie in his looking all suave and sinister but you his is very quick. 🙄 The credits end with Mercedes twirling in a red dress.

It has a fairground circus theme but similar to the credits that neighbours has. It's more jolly.

John Paul gets quite a good long camera focus laughing and singing with his mum and dad, but James' one was too fast, it focused on Marnie more than him and I was disappointed

I thought that too. It was literally blink and you'll miss it.
