Yeah he didn't look shocked at all, just resigned. 🙁 It's almost as if James recognised that look and was expecting a beating.

There are definitely co-dependency issues there between James and his mother. It does seems that Mac's violent streak has pushed James closer to his mother, understandably, but Marnie has exploited that to her advantage.

Both his parents are totally screwed-up in different ways and they've totally screwed James up as a result. I wonder if this is partly why he's so drawn to John Paul, aside from finding him very attractive obviously. While his family didn't have money, John Paul was brought up in a loving home with a good mother who loved her children dearly. I think James covets that family life, though he'd never admit it.

Oh and I just remembered how James also surprised John Paul with how good he was with Matthew.

Ahsan C is great at uploading the McNight story (and lots of others too). I don't know when it'll be up, but it will appear soon.

There's another uploader called JamesNightingale on Dailymotion, but they're very against James being with JP, so they might not want to upload tonight's ep.

Yeah, I always check both channels (and justmcqueening too).

JamesNightingale is a Harry/James shipper, I think...what terrible taste!

James is double Harry's age, that ship is just wrong on so many levels. It was fun watching James be a big sneaky schemer, but clearly once he got to know John Paul he realised his mistake and rightfully gravitated towards my golden son instead!

Harry and James? maybe as a big brother, but seriously what would they talk about?

Yeah, James/Harry is just no no no. Sleazy as f*ck.

James/JP has the potential of working out in the long run, if James gets fixed a bit.

They would have sex, and that's it. Once the novelty wears off, there's nothing left!!

James had absolutely no interest in Harry as a person, it was pure lust and nothing else. I can't even fathom them together in any proper sense of the word at all.

Besides, I'm one of the very few Starry shippers on this board

Yeah I get this impression too. John Paul has a certain goodness that James can't help but be gravitated towards. JP is a school teacher, a good brother, has good manors, down to earth, friendly and easy going. Opposite to James in many ways but similar in others and it's the kind of influence he has that James finds appealing. I do think James looks down on John Paul's 'chav' family as James is middle class and posh. That being said, I do agree that he sees them all as a loving unit, loyal and protective of one another.

I'm looking forward to the day Myra has him down for tea. 😂

Aww, now I'm remembering the time she asked Doug over for dinner and then left him to do all the cooking! He was accepted the moment he started shouting at them for it.

I loved Doug so much

Omg I just saw she has a spreadsheet chronicling James episodes, how fantastic! And holy sh1t there's also a 'JP Warning' category.

Must be the worst when you hate a ship the show is pushing hard.

But he didn't want JP, so he can do one!!

JP's blindness was the biggest plot device to ever plot device in the history of plot devices. Oh, well. Good for him, I guess!!

The people who hate JP really hate him. I mean, they are proper nasty, calling him awful names and all. I wonder why he inspires such extreme hatred and revulsion in his haters, I will never get it. You don't have to love him or be interested in him, but I don't get some of the nastiness. Oh, well.

They're probably jarry shippers. Some take thier ship to the extreme that slagging off the competition makes them feel better. I've seen some terrible shipping wars in my time .

JP is no saint but he's not a dislikable character. You either like him or feel indifferent.
