Didn't see tonight's e4. Can anyone give me an in-depth synopsis of the ep.

It's just typical Hollyoaks. Two days ago they weren't on speaking terms, now JP is letting himself into James' flat and James is confiding his revenge plans to John Paul while he makes dinner for them both! It was a bit sudden, I feel like I have whiplash!

James called a Solicitor round to his and told him the history of his childhood (with JP in the room). It became apparent there's no evidence and it's just James' word against Mac's, so James immediately decided he wasn't going to go through with it. He's now decided to go for revenge instead.

Oh and McNight were super coupley tonight

I could buy it if at least James had apologized about his behaviour in occasion of JP's accident... but we know that this second stint JP is a doormat, so nothing new!!

Plus Alfie and Jade continue to be the sweetest, cutest pair in the entire world and I'm gutted they probably won't get a happy ending.

James has given up on the proof in court and is planning another way of getting back at Mac. JP was taken aback by James' vehemence. I can see this as a real problem. James has accepted himself as a damaged man.

I know what you mean but at least they hadn't got together. JP is just being a really good friend. I don't think James is in the right place for a relationship right now anyway.

Then episode was good and Gregory stole the show again. He told his solicitor that his dad threw him down the stairs just because he beat him in chess. He said mac wrote school notes to get him out of PE to disguise the bruises. He told JP that he never understood why Mac hated him and that it must because he was a gay sensitive mummy's boy. In the end, he dismissed the case because he knew he didn't have enough evidence. In the end he got really angry and said he will make his dad pay for what he did and get revenge his own way.

I don't want a revenge plot. I'm afraid they are not going to resist having James go to nasty lenghts in order to get back at Mac. I hope they don't make him do unforgivable things!

This is my thinking. I can't help but think the story will end with Mac murdering his dad. 😁

I totally hear that, but I think it's in character for James to apologise by throwing money at the issue. I think that was his apology! My darling John Paul has always been too big hearted for his own good.

If they're partnered with the NSPCC for the storyline then I don't think it will go that route. James is obviously just angry and discouraged right now. He already knows how these cases can go what with him having no evidence. And it being his word against his dad's (and his whole family for that matter) when Mac is seen as the good guy and he's the one with the reputation.

I agree. James deals with problems by throwing money at it. He's not hearts and flowers (that's JP). He has his own way of showing remorse.

Yes, thankfully they reined themselves in that much at least. I wonder how involved JP is going to be in this scheme of James', given he's the only one who knows the truth and who also knows what James is planning up to. He's going to need to be a voice of sanity here, or James could spiral out of control fast!

I hope so.

I do think this story has lots of mileage yet and it can go a number of ways. It will be interesting when his family will be in the loop and what stance they take.

On a different note, James was really sweet with Alfie today.

When James wondered if he'd ever be able to feel anything again my heart broke for him! He's so damaged

I know 😥 and it really does explain why he's so emotionally shut down. He does feel for JP though, no matter how hard he tries to fight those feelings.

Ugh!! I want this storyline to last a long time (not the revenge against Mac, the JP/James storyline) and be a good one, but at the same time I want everything to evolve now Hahahaha I'm super conflicted, and impatient.

He clearly loves his siblings. You wouldn't blame him for feeling some resentment that he was the one who bore the brunt of Mac's temper (and Marnie's bullshit for that matter), but he doesn't seem to at all. That says an awful lot about who he is deep down, even if he has trouble showing that side of himself.

I'm quite happy for them to make this last as long as they tell the story honestly. Where they went wrong with John Paul's rape story was the twists. James's story needs to be told truthfully without taking the sensationalism route. It would be realistic for none of his siblings to believe James, no matter how painful it is for the viewer.

I know, I agree!! That's what I want, a carefully told and properly paced storyline. I'm just impatient sometimes!! Hahaha

I'm already worrying about next week.... our boys won't be on, will they??

Yup he doesn't know what unconditional love is and John Paul understands why he's rejected him in the past.

Nope and don't know how long before they are.

At least we know they'll be at the centre of a explosive storyline.
