Sigh. It sucks. What will get me through work??
Hopefully they won't disappear for weeks.

JP was so sweet holding onto James

I liked James and Alfie, who always seems to wonder what his big brothers aim is

I think JP will rein him in. I would have him say something like if you act like this damaged man then Mac has won. Being able to love and be happy would be a victory. I wonder if one of the siblings has been attacked. Mac seems to be on a very short fuse. Maybe someone did witness something. Whatever happens I can't see Mac getting away with it. I also want to know how Marnie split up James and Carter.

Two questions:

1) Did JP let himself into James's house when James was cooking? Did he have a key?

2) Is his eyesight 100% better cos that is what it looked like Temporary blindness completely forgotten.

Plus did he sleep at James' he was wearing the same Tshirt from yesterday at the start

I was just about to post about that. The keys thing bugged me, why would John Paul be letting himself into James' house? It wasn't like he'd just been given them to pop out for some wine or something, he was empty handed when he came back; it really threw me.

1) Some doors don't need a key, if you don't lock them you just need to twist the handle, so maybe James' door wasn't locked

2) Obviously. He went from seeing shadows to being able to read in 2 episodes! LOL the most obvious plot device ever!

Francy you are right, the door might not have been locked and perhaps I imagined seeing keys when JP let himself in?

I'm probably just obsessed with keys after the gripping 'Joe gives Joanne door keys' storyline

But JP did seem very 'at home' in James's place and it seemed to me as if he was acting like they were a proper couple.

Saw the episode. McNight were very couply (JP even a little clingy, bless!! ), so even if they are not doing the dirty right now, I don't really get a friends vibe from them.

James's rage is understandable, but very, very dangerous. He risks to lose himself to it. I hope it doesn't consume him...I'm sure JP will help with that.

James was very sweet with Alfie. Poor guy. A lesser man would resent and even hate his siblings, but he doesn't. That shows he is wrong to think so badly about himself. Mac didn't manage to destroy all good in him.

I fel like crying when he said that he wasn't sure he could ever feel anything again! Greg is phenomenal, so many nuances in his performance!!

Are we done for this week?? Or are they going to be in tomorrow's episode??

Justmcqueening has the episode up and he definitely uses keys. It's such a small thing but I really noticed it.

I also noticed that John Paul visibly flinched when James raised his voice at the end.

Yeah, I noticed it too and it distressed me a bit.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of that clip.

Wow, on watching it again it was really obvious how 'coupley' they were. JP's use of 'we' and his hand on James's arm. Understated yet clearly coupley.

Yeah the flinch is a worry. Because of his parents' toxic relationship, James doesn't really have a clear idea of what a healthy relationship looks like. Hopefully he doesn't start to behave with JP how he has seen his parents behave.

I dread the thought of Kirkwood putting James and JP together only to turn them into an abusive relationship. Dread it.

Please lord no! Surely they wouldn't go down the 'abusive gay relationship' route again after Stendan?

Just been watching clips from earlier in the week. I still don't understand why Mac detests James as much as he does. There has to be more to this.

I noticed that too. I really hope HO don't take that route. As if James doesn't get enough comparisons to Brendan already. 🙄

I think it's likely be will push JP away with this story, which I can deal with but let's not make James violent himself.

I noticed the key thing myself. How odd. 😶

I'm thinking this too. There just has to be but I think what ever it is, James doesn't know.
There seems to be a deep rooted hated on Mac's side but surely they doesn't come from having a sensitive mummy's boy. He seems to really detest him.

James has shown no hint of violence, he complained about ruining his hand when he punched Darren to pretend a break in early in the show

I think it was just how quickly he turned from calm and rational to im going to ruin him

I know you don't want it to, but I think it is going to come down to paternity. Old Mac keeps repeating "Keep away from MY family".

Oh god 🙄 I hope not but what else can there be? I guess the only good thing to come out of this scenario is that we'll get to see James's biological father at some point.

Didn't Mac say that he regretted getting Marnie pregnant with him or words along those lines?

James doesn't know what a healthy relationship looks like, though. The only example he had were his ****ed up parents, so it wouldn't be unrealistic for him to repeat some of the same patterns. Not necessarily physical violence (I don't think Mac hit Marnie), but emotional abuse and manipulation.

Obviously, I hope not. I'm too invested in this couple, and I want them to have a shot at happiness, they both deserve it. I'm just not sure HO can resist from going down that route...they like JP to be the eternal victim. And James, well, he is beyond damaged.

I'm sure Mac is James' father.

Given how much Mac hates James, and the fact that he doesn't want him around, there's no reason whatsover for continuing to pretend James is his son, if he isn't.

At the very least, Mac believes James is his son. If he knew that James wasn't his, he wouldn't keep up the charade. Their family was split up many years ago, anyway.
