I think that's what's happening here. Emmet was always the superior actor but because their partnership worked so well, Ste as a character was watchable, likable even. They had a good rapport. Ste and Harry do nothing for each other. I actually think Ste is bringing Harry down. Parry is not the best actor on the show but I find his character a lot better when he is with his peers doing normal teenage stuff. I just find it unbelievable that a 18 year old would want the burden of a man in his late 20's, battling a drug addiction, with two small children and live with the risk of catching HIV. It just doesn't ring true to me at all. In fact the way the show goes on, it seems like they want to forget that Ste has HIV altogether.

I do think you're right about the actor wanting all the big storylines so he can show he is the best actor but all it shows is how OTT he is as a actor and exhausted he is as a character. What Kirkwood should have done is rested Ste for at least a year, show him being a dad, getting a secure job and rebuilding his life without ever bringing Harry into it. That would have allowed the character to grow and develope so when he did actually have that big issue led story, viewers would actually care. The character is so tired and exhausted now that what ever happens to him, big or small, I'm not bothered and I don't care if he dies through it either.

Mine too. Like seriously. I just don't trust Kirkwood. They have paired every gay man with Ste, it's just ridiculous.

I do think James and JP are in it for the long haul but if JP were to ever leave, Kirkwood would not be able to help himself.

No matter how bad Ry-Ry is, i'll never root for Ste over Amy. I wouldnt trust Ste to look after a twig tbh. Unsympathetic character and even if Ryan's a bad guy after all, Leah/Lucas should be with them not their useless, scummy, druggy, waste of space dad and his latest twinkie, who's only 9 years older than Leah.

Also a scene kinda loses its meaning when you've watched it through so many times to gif it, holy shit!

So....anybody else catch a hint of a 'spark' between Ste and Ry-Ry in last night's episode? Or was it just my overactive imagination?

I reckon they'll probably go there eventually, though I hope they don't.

Besides, Starry seems to not be going anywhere anytime soon (sigh) and if they had to pair Ste up with someone else, I reckon it would be Ryan.

HP is so stupid, James and McNight were building a nice fandom, it's so silly to kill the momentum by having a huge blackhole just after starting the storylone, instead of capitalizing on the audience interest. I wonde rhow anyone can think this kind of drastic block storytelling is a good idea.

It really was the worst time to have a black hole wasn't it? The story had just started... and it got of to a dam good start too. And then kaput. Nothing. It's beyond frustrating because the viewers are literately left hanging. What I've noticed is that James's story hasn't just sparked interest from his fans but also the casual viewer too. I've lost count of the amount of times I've gone in the main thread and people have asked where James is and what's happened to his story. The viewers do care. It's just ridiculous that the story has gone on a complete standstill when it's barely in its infancy.

Good news I suppose is according to spoilers James is back on Friday. It's probably a minor appearance and it's nothing connected to McNight or his abuse storyline, but it's something.

It is also Mercedes birthday bash when she flirts with Mac. I find it hard to believe JP won't be there. It would also seem strange if one or other was in it for 1 episode. Hopefully the Mercedes/Joanne war next week may mean we will see them.
