There are some new spoilers out for the week of 19th Dec to 23rd Dec and James/JP are in them. James is left to look after Matthew on the Tues ep but it doesnt go well then on the Fri ep James vows to try harder for JP and Matthew and then James plays party games with Scott but Scott flirts with JP which irks James. Ughh. Please leave Scott/JP alone please tptb. On the Wed Scott overhears something which must make him think he's got a chance with JP again. Im thinking maybe they fight over Matthew and Scott thinks they may be over. UGGHHHHH. WHY!!!!!! Please Scott and JP was nothing compared to McNight. Hopefully JP doesnt even entertain the thought of reuniting with orange.

Awful spoilers.

This storyline could have been epic, instead they have made it as flat as possible. No wonder the initial buzz has died...

I feel like all the storyline's are falling flat at the moment. There's no momentum and no cohesion between any of the storylines. Too many characters, the way the stories are told and the fact that it seems as though the writers never talk to each other or read each other's scripts, so that when characters show up in other storylines, they're like pod people. It doesn't even seem like they're doing weekly block story telling any more, it seems like 3 days is all their gnat like attention spans can muster.

All true. I'm especially tired of the storylines and characters being all separated, in their own bubble...rarely what's happening to a character in another storyline has an effect on other storylines, people barely react to things that on't strictly involve them and their specific storyline.

And now, with all the different things they could choose to explore with McNight (James is a rich - in the sense of complex, interesting and multilayered, not in the sense that he is wealthy!! - character, and still relatively new and unexplored), of course they choose the less interesting and "mature" one, by involving Orange again. There is no end to the worst, with this show.

What's happening in the episode?

John Paul knew full well James was only offering one night, it was Myra who convinced him he meant longer. Of course things went south when JP brought up a "trial week"; James asked if JP thought he was a refuge and JP asked if James though he was a one night stand and left. That was how the episode ended for them.

From what I remember James asks him to move in properly tomorrow, so that's good.

Just watched it. In the talk with Myra she says James must be in love to which JP replies James doesn't do love. He was really crestfallen when James said he was pushing it for one night. JP has always wanted commitment so this reaction is not surprising. At least James is willing to try something he has never done before. The spoilers are awful because they involve Scott. I suppose there is nothing else they can do with him.

About last night's episode:

1- Goldie is ridiculous even for this soap

2- Why does James even give Joanne the time of day?? HO somehow have decided that he should be friends with a basket case. I can't wait for her to leave

3- this moving in together business is way, way too rushed and precocious in the storyline (although I realize that by HO standards it's probably not too soon... everyone on this show proposes after 2 weeks of dating). Moving in together after a couple of months of dating is too soon for most couples...let alone for someone like James, who is emotionally closed-off, "doesn't do relationships", and has hardly been in a serious relationship before. There's no way he can be ready, and to be honest it's unfair that he is practically being forced by JP's circumstances, and it's unfair for JP to expect it from James. James has every right to not want his very new partner to move in with him just yet. I don't know, this rush doesn't bode well for the couple, imo (or more probably, Kirkwood doesn't bode well for this couple)

4- Myra should just. ..not speak! haha

Ah, apparently Harry is going to propose to Ste..... buahahahahaha so ridiculous it's almost entertaining.

Well, I hope this nonsense at least facilitates the topic of McHay's very appropriate and long-overdue divorce.

I just read on DS an article that talked about HO setting up a miserable Christmas for Ste. In it Kieron says Ste's priority is his kids and he doesn't care about his relationship with Harry. I should think the answer will be no then!

I hope Harry wakes up and drops Ste, I am not an Harry fan, but he deserves better.
And we deserve Starry to be over!

I saw on tumblr that James Sutton has been filming with the actress who plays Leah, so hopefully that means McHay divorce talk is afoot.

Or Leah tells him she prefers daddyJP to daddySte, daddyHarry daddyDoug, or daddyBrendan. Have I missed anyone. Hopefully that doesn't mean McHay is back on the cards.

I managed to watch the episode live on streaming...of course the signal froze during the McNight scene in the club (while I managed to watch the rest of the episode smoothly), so I missed chunks of it. But from what I saw, it was a bit meh and underwhelming, like most things since they got together off screen. Oh well.

Anyway, James didn't look thrilled at all in the end, and I wonder whether JP was truly oblivious to it, or whether he was in denial!

It is a bit much to ask. JP was sheepishly asking for a trial week yesterday and he saw how James reacted. Matthew was not thought about then. The best thing about the bar was James finally rejecting Joanne and them discussing their relationship. James saying they were more than friends as if it was a surprise realisation.

Hello, dead thread...

If anyone's around.... is this it for JP/James for now?? I can't find the spoilers anymore, and I can't remember if they are supposed to be in more episode this week, or if after last night they are back in their blackhole....

Can't find any more spoilers for next couple of weeks. Back to the Ste train. However, JP does know how to wind James up about moving and breaking things. You can see that the irritation will get to James which will lead to the Orange seeing an opening.I thought it was funny he was so sympathetic to Joanne. The reveal it was him that called the police was very like him texting Sarah in the Mcdean reveal. JP does have an underhand streak when he comes across as so mildmannered.

I'm so glad that James has cut ties with that physcopath. You could tell how gutted he was though. Despite everything he was fond of her and was saddened he had to let her go. It would be nice to see James have a new female BFF. Joanne and James together were too toxic (not saying james is similar to her) but they were never going to bring out the best in each other. James need someone he can bounce of with, whom he shares similarities and differences with. This is why Brendan worked so well with mitzee. I actually think James and Lisa would be nice - something I never thought id say because I've never really warmed to Lisa up until recently. Sienna is also a interesting choice. It all depends on how characters click.

Spoilers...ugh. Why the writers feel the need to have Scott back in JP's orbit, I will never know.

As for James and JP, it's all going to fast for me. James hasn't even told JP that he loves him yet and now they're 'house mates'. Then again knowing oaks, they probably made thier declarations of love off screen. 🙄. It's all got too domesticated for me. What ever happened to emotionally shut down James? I find it hard to believe that someone with his issues he would move JP in so quickly. By this rate, they will be married by Xmas.

Yeah, they are writing them like they have been writing every other relationship on the show since Kirkwood came back, in a rushed and superficial way. McNight is nothing like I hoped, but I guess it was to be expected. And I'm trying hard to enjoy them for what it is.

I think they showed that James is confused about his feelings. He kind of said they were more than friends in a surprised way. JP doesn't think James does 'love' so he is taking it all in a light hearted way. Perhaps the reason for orange to have a chance is when James realises his feelings are stronger than he knew. From hating to be alone he actually has a family now.

Be offscreen lol. That's the annoying thing other stories have time to develop/slightly drag a bit where is this one is just rush rush rush.

Can't say looking looking forward to Scott urgh!! Was hopping they would try and forget about him and jp as it clearly didn't work but nope back be is..hurrah

I've actually enjoyed a handful of HO's recent episodes, I loved the drama with Joanne, and James rejecting her, you could see his pain and disappointment, the bit that really resonated with me was the exact point that he gave up on her; when he heard she had lied about Simone beating Lisa, you could see the anger in his face that someone would lie about something like that, something he has experience with. I also adored the scene with him and JP, Gregory's acting is constantly blowing me away, his subtle facial expressions, the way he conveys his emotions, I particularly liked it when he realised he felt so strongly about JP, it was like he didn't know what the emotion was and it shocked him that he felt it. I also find that the show is slowly pointing towards a friendship between him and Lisa? I feel that he will find out about her sleeping with Mac and use it later on down the line. anyway, looks like they won't be onscreen for a while now. also, I was a little disappointed at how brief Tabby's appearance was, she was awesome. I really thought she knew about Mac being abusive, but apparently not...

I just saw a really cute thing on the video the Hollyoaks twitter posted saying goodbye to Celine. Some of the cast were saying why they love her and Greg said he loved Celine because she got James and John Paul together and James "loves" John Paul! I know actors words in shows don't mean anything in terms of the storyline, but I really liked how much Greg enjoys McNight.

Waveguide spoilers out. Not much except John Paul and orange play Xmas party games with Mathew. Orange flirting with JP annoys James. 😑
