Yep saw those. I posted about it at the top of the page. Why must we endure Scott again? Its really annoying. I know you need drama in a relationship to stop it being boring but must it involve Scott. 😠👎

Did anyone see on Gregory's twitter that he retweeted Now Mag's tweet about a baby. It seems Gregory's going to be a dad in the new year. If its true then congrats to him.

It is dead, indeed. Sigh. At the beginning people were posting even when the guys were off screen... now not so much. That happens when a storyline disappoints, I guess..

Where have you seen that spoiler?? I'm not liking the sound of it. Can't they come up with something more interesting to create drama??

It will probably be a misunderstanding. A profile he hasn't taken down and they'll dedicate the 3 minutes their storyline seems to be allotted these days, to it and we'll see no sign of them for 20 episodes. Probably

Yeah, they are always on for a couple of episodes, and off for 3 weeks. Always better than Kim, I guess...if you are a Kim fan, life is hard! LOL

The writers also seem to be continuing with the same type of narrative they were using for McHay, which in the end completely destroyed that couple and turned even the most loyal fans against them.. the constant figthing, the constant falling out, the never being happy for more than 2 seconds before something comes up to disrupt things.... it gets old, especially if all we see wheneverr they are on screen is the latest crisis/conflict.

James was actually super cute with Matthew for the most part. He took him out for a walk, played hide and seek, football - if only Matthew hadn't let the McQueen gene take over at the end there as he wrecked the house and James' laptop

James kept getting distracted by Ellie and Nightingale family drama while he wa sin the villagewith Matthew, I kept worrying that he would lose sight of him and something terrible would happen to the child.... I wanted to scream " pay attention to the kid, you idiot".

To be honest, in James' place I would have lost my patience too, especially after Matthew poured the glass over the laptop.

its interesting watching James display taught behaviour from Mac, but its kind of out of his character up to now, he's never shown that he's got a temper, in-fact he always keeps his cool in much more trying situations. I think it would have been more believable if Matthew had been testing his patience all day, but he was being super cute fatherly with him, then suddenly he loses it? I know Matthew spilt water on his laptop, but still! Anyway, going to be interesting to see what John Paul does now. Also intriguing to hear Marnie say that a trip they went on was the 'only time you (Mac) and James got on'- so she's seen that they've never bonded.
Also, they allow her back in the house after what she did and still ostracize James even though he's being super nice all the time?? mad!

haha, yes, probably! well, tbh he shouldn't have left Matthew with James anyway, not the wisest thing to do! He still doesn't really know James that well.

JP is seriously annoying me, seems like hes just using James cos hes rich and has a nice flat, not cos he cares for him,

He uses him as a baby sitter, and a bit of an emotional punch bag, breaking his confidence, using him for a place to stay, shouts at him for not doing what he wants
Im pretty sure James never wanted a kid in his house, seems good to put up with JP and his family

I do think he loves him. He over reacted to the Matthew thing but he walked in on James shouting at his son. He didn't know that Matthew was being naughty. He saw a guy he's living with who has issues shouting at his son.

Yep he's being annoying but in his head he reacted to someone other than him chastising his son. I'm more concerned by Scott acting all bunny bolierish towards JP. I mean a fight and he thinks they have a chance of reuniting. He obviously thinks so little of himself to return to someone who cheated on him more than once and was never really into him.

JP is seriously annoying me too. I don't recognize him right now, the way they have been writing him since he blabbed to Nathan is awful.

He knows what James is like, he knows how damaged he is because he has seen it and because he has been told.. "I don't even know if I'm ever going to feel anything again". He knows that James has always avoided intimacy and emotional involvement, and he knows why... if he chooses to pursue a relationship with him he should do it responsibly, knowing that it won't be easy, and with the will to help him and stand by him when he inevitably messes up or regresses.

I'm not seeing any of that, I'm seeing someone who, pushed by circumstances, sort of forced James into a rushed cohabitation he wasn't really ready for, and throws strops when things predictably aren't the way he wants. I'm npt seeing the love and the thoughtfulness a situation like theirs would require.

If JP wants the perfect partner and perfect father figure for Matthew, he shouldn't indeed be wasting his and James' time. He should go be with Scott or someone more adjusted. If he chooses to be with James he has to be aware of the challenges it entails, and be willing to fight for it, not give up at the first hurdle...because there will be many more.

I think in Scott's head, James is a terrible person with no redeeming qualities (ironic given he poisoned his own aunt) and JP is just in lust with him or something so it was only a matter of time before they'd break up and he'd be waiting in the wings.

As for the Matthew thing, I see both sides. Parents don't like other people shouting at their children, it's just the way they are, though Matthew was being a brat. And James' reactions are clearly informed by the way his dad would have reacted to him acting the same way. Which is worrying and why he definitely needs to see a therapist for real. JP did spring the babysitting on James, but he is right that he and Matthew are a package deal. James is the one who made the choice to pursue JP, to want him in his life so badly that he'll pretend to see a therapist and let him move in (he could have just said no). If he wants JP, then he has to want to be there for his kid, otherwise, don't bother. It is early days in the relationship, but if he wants it to be even remotely serious, then he has to accept that he'll be spending time with a child as well.

The biggest problem of all is the complete lack of air time they're giving the storyline. It all feeds into James' abuse storyline and they're not using one storyline to inform the other (like they obviously should be). They've just halted it entirely.

you are spot on, the relationship seems to be all wrong, I would rather Ellie or Alfie lived with James, and saw Mac threaten and attack him, not this JP doesnt like Goldie so tricks James into having him and his kid live with him

Me too, I'm anticipating something like that happening in the future, but it doesn't seem to be on Hollyoaks's radar right now. I'm getting seriously annoyed, this is the most slow moving storyline I've ever witnessed. I mean, it gives you this cliff hanger, and then the next episode gives you like 10 seconds of screen time and then babbles on about Scott and Zac and whatever, gah!

From looking at twitter the boys are filming on location in Wales. On Monday James wanted to find somewhere he could watch the footie and then put a shot on Instagram of Wales yesterday morning. Last night a fan put up a pic of them after the match with James putting a finger up to represent the score. Today he's mentioned being on location shooting and Gregory has also put a shot of Wales. At first I thought it was just James on a pre-xmas break with his gf until i saw the pic after the footie with the fan and now it appears McNight are filming there. Despite how badly this story is being written at least they are still together into Feb next year. Wonder what they're doing there?

Hi guys, it's been a while. I'm more of a lurker these days. I still like them but I'm just not as invested anymore. The latest hiccup with orange should enrage me but i don't care enough to have that reaction now. I've come to accept that Kirkwood and co will put in these silly contrivances with orange getting in between them and John Paul being a complete ass. A silly sub plot to move them along but not actually develops them. Yawn. 😑

Now that's interesting. While I am no fan of how their relationship is being portrayed, I'm hopeful (or you could say foolish) that something special is planned. We don't normally see on location unless it is part of a central story. I just really hope it's around James abuse story. That really needs to pick up its pace. It had such a promising start and while we can still see the hostility between Mac and James, the whole thing has become unspoken. The Ellie plot is moving in every scene but with james, they've really put the brakes on it.

I still think James is a incredible character and I can't believe I'm saying this but these days I find myself enjoying his scenes with his family more than I do john Paul. With JP, it's all too domesticated. At least with his family, we get to see different sides to him. I particularly enjoyed the episode where Alfie locked them in because we got to see wind up and sarcastic James again ( I love that James) but then also caring brother to Ellie.

More news. Press pics in a local Welsh paper has them filming in yellow sports car with JP driving and then.both standing by the car in another shot. No idea what's its all about but it does make me excited for what it is all about. As you say they only do on location if its for something big so hopefully 'fingers crossed' its something we can finally enjoy and get stuck into. Something to fill us with hope for the story those pics/tweets though.

Maybe a stunt?

The abuse plot they can move forward in oaks not in wales but then maybe it's something that's come of the plot that results in them going? I dunno. I can't see HO wanting to film the couple taking a holiday somewhere. 🤔

James was cute tonight, he's really making an effort, and I don't know if JP fully appreciates that. And while James needs to work on his "kid banter", JP needs to work on his parenting skills.

Ugh...orange the bunny boiler. James is such a juicy character, there are so many interesting aspect that could be explored in his relationship with JP.... and yet we have Scott pulling a Joanne and plotting to come between McNight. Barf. What does he want with James' bank movements??
