when Hollyoaks gets it wrong it gets it very wrong, but when it gets it right it gets it very right. Lovely scenes between James and JP today, they are so tender with one another. I feel there is a wonderful story trying to break out with them, Hollyoaks just hasn't quite got there yet. Though with some of the shots I've seen from their upcoming location shoot I feel maybe its coming. But then I've thought that in the past and been let down.

I really enjoyed the scenes between James and John Paul but felt a bit disappointed that John Paul wasn't so sympathetic to what James had been through with his dad that they was showing before. It was like he had forgotten.

Are James and JP going to be in tonight's episode, or was last night their last episode this week?

Have also liked that James has had some scenes with his siblings! Not been completly pushed out at least..for now anyway

yes, they can be quite inconsistent with his characterisation, it is like he's forgotten all about it and forgotten to be sensitive and considerate about James's past. I feel that Scott brings out the worst in JP, he turns him into someone else. They still pitch James perfectly though.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows who's shooting in Wales with them? And when do you think it'll air?

I know this James apologising to Matthew thing is comparable to Brendan yelling at Leah and apologising to her with a present on Christmas day three years ago but after that we saw Brendan make an effort and become close to Leah. James said he'll try hard and it's be nice if they showed something that follows up to what he said father than having them off screen again and it forgotten about. Like him saying that shouldn't just be something he says to get John Paul back and it's forgotten about. They should show scenes with John Paul and Matthew.

I'm hoping this Wales thing means they've got good things planned for them. They don't normally shoot off set and in Wales of all places and I'm hoping they've realised the potential with this pairing and will concentrate on them and show good things and depth. I'm sure even Starry haven't had an off set shoot so I'm hoping it means big things. Idk it just reminds me of Stendan in Dublin but obviously that was bigger and better but I'm hoping this means big things for McNight too. I see so much potential here and I need it to be tapped into.

I'm really curious to know what the Wales thing is about and why they are there and what they're doing. It must be a big storyline coming up for them to take them to Wales to shoot it? I hope so.

I really don't know what the Wales thing is going to be (was it even confirmed that they were shooting in Wales?)... I just hope it's good stuff, and not something stupid like bunny boiler Scott kidnapping JP or Matthew, and James having to rescue them LMAO

Yesterday with the last day at work before Xmas James posted a snap of him on set when he'd 1 scene to film then he was done and he was in James's flat so I guess that means they're still living together. So they've been filming in Wales for a few day this week then filming in James's flat so it must mean a significant block of eps coming up at some point Feb/early Mar. I wonder if now's lack of screen time for the next few weeks until the James dating profile spoiler is when James S was in Aus for nearly 2 weeks back in Nov or if that will come later on after their next few eps.

I must admit, sometimes i lose the will with these two especially when we have those silly Scott contrivances. However I still can't help but see the potential in these two. I do think that both actors have a natural chemistry and the characters work well together. This is actually the first relationship since John Paul's return that I can actually get behind. I just want the show to go back to the depth of them all, like focusing on James's past and his family issues. The scenes back in Autumn were gold but it seems like the writers have put the brakes on it. I still stand by what iv said before. I think 2017 is going to be a massive year for James. The fact that him and jp are filming in wales suggests they are going to be central to a story. I hope so anyway.

I'm imagining the Wales shot to be something akin to the HO Later episode when Brenden went to his grandmothers house (was that it?) and had to face a lot of his demons. I think Wales will be a place that James and his family went on holiday and something happened to James- it will be something that is used to bring JP and James closer together and where JP learns to understand James more. Or maybe that's just what I hope it is! haha.

Can you believe Starry won best partnership in the DS awards. How? They are crapness personified. Wow!!!! Plus Kieron won bestt actor in his weakest year yet. Who voted in these awards fgs? I'm no Robron fan or even Danny Miller fan but he/they deserved the award a he'll of a lot more imo.

I can't beleive starry won best partnership and Kieron best actor. It just shows who votes in these kinds of awards.

I actually hope Kirkwood leaves next year. I don't think I've ever remembered a executive producer so long in charge. It's normally 2-3 year max. Next year it has to be his fourth year surely. Time for a change up! I just don't trust McNight or James - who has tones of potential - under him, especially when he so clearly favours starry. You can see who is favourites are.

I am intrigued about the location scenes though. I hope it's more about James story/background though. This is where the potential and drama lies. Enough with silly relationship contrivances. James is wasted on that crap.

It doesn't make sense when you look at the percentages between first and second place. Danny Miller always wins best actor no way would Kieron Richardson beat him. I'm a Stendan fan but Ste without Brendan just doesn't work!
They should get rid of Birkwood and bring back Paul Marquess (and Brendan).

Someone on justmcqueening has asked about a stunt involving JP/James. Apparently instagram has said something about it. They've replied with the fact they've not heard anything. Has anyoneheard anything?

There is a stunt coming to my knowledge. It was on Facebook and the actor who plays Joel mentioned it. All he revealed was the actors who play himself, sienna, warren, Ellie, Marnie and Freddie are involved.

I doubt mcnights story will be intertwined with thiers. I get the impression that thier scenes in wales will be more character driven. Hope so anyway.

Yep.i heard about the fire stunt for new year but this person seems to think another stunt involving a car crash for McNight. I don't know though. I'd like it to be more character driven as well. You don't always need stunts and drama. But it may be needed. We don't yet know what Wales has been about so a stunt may not take away from whatever it is. Until we know its all speculation.

It may be that the poster is merely speculating that it's a stunt based on the fact that we know McKnight are seen to be filming in a car in wales. They may have just naturally come to that conclusion .

Having said that, it could be a stunt. Who knows? I just doubt they'd spend thier budget to go all the way to wales to do it when they already have a set or can choose a location closer to home.

Soaplife has a spoiler for the 12th Jan spoiler saying 'Is Scott's illegal activity going to be discovered due to his stupidity? Or words to that effect. I wonder if our first thought on the James/Scott bank details is right? I think Scott has started taking money from James' account. Next Fri he returns from a holiday. I wonder if it was funded by James without him knowing and then as the above spoiler is from the same day as Mercy finds the James Nightingale dating profile, I wonder if Scott has set it up in his own twisted logic to break McNight up. We all felt that the scene on Scott looking at James' bank details was leading somewhere so maybe this is it. What do you all think?
