Paying a non-entity like Bovey £100,000 was a crazy decision.

"He had hoped he would be able to cash in with big bucks magazine deals with his girlfriend after leaving the house, having split with his manager and signed to the same management team as Lillie to make it happen."

It's the Sun, so I take what they say with a pinch of salt, but if the above is true, it's hardly a career making money selling magazine deals

It's funny how they can pay ridiculously big amounts and yet not have money for live feed.

TBH his level of "fame" isn't on a par even with the likes of Bovey, so he can hardly command £100k+

The pay of some of this summer's Celebrity Big Brother 2016 housemates has been revealed.
The new CBB 2016 cast was unveiled last night with 15 celebs joining the house for the next month.
As always there's been much speculation and reports over how much they're all getting paid and the figures, at least as reported, seem to be varied.
Christopher Biggins is said to have scooped the biggest pay check with a fee of £150,000.
Samantha Fox is understood to have agreed a undisclosed "six figure sum", potentially making her the second highest paid of this year's housemates.
Perhaps surprisingly, Anthea Turner's ex Grant Bovey is also said to be getting paid quite a bit with a rumoured fee of £100,000.

The host of reality stars in the house - such as Geordie Shore's Marnie Simpson and Ex On The Beach's Stephen Bear - are believed to be getting a lot less with five-figure sums.

Storage Hunter Colin Newell aka Heavy D is said to be the lowest paid of the lot, but could still enjoy a five-figure payout.

Somebody on Twitter showed me an article about that - all it did was quote "sources" that he'd dumped her and then something about her b/f deleting pictures of her on social media - which I've never quite understood why would be taken as him dumping her.

I deleted my pics from Facebook as I was having a clearout

Grant? What the heck made them think he was worth that? Much as I dislike Bear, at least as a housemate, he's earned his fee.

Well it's only us that want it and we don't matter, also the could get up to all their shenanigans if we had live feed.

I didn't think they got paid at all on Civvy BB.

Surprised Bear only got 12K though - I don't suppose lewis and Marnie got much either. Now we know why they have so many people from those shows - they're used to "performing" for £50 a day

Apparently marnie got 80000 so she would have been the highest of the younger people

Grant Bovey - £100K???

Didn't he go bankrupt? Only did the show to pay his debts then I would imagine so not a bad pay day at all

His association with Anthea would have given him the chance to live a reasonably comfortable life, as a result, he's probably refused to do the show for a significant sum. Whereas the reality TV types from EOTB, Towie don't get paid as much as Anthea would have and would probably do CBB for a couple of thousand pounds.

They always spend too much on the wrinklies.

Then have to fill out the cast with cheapies from TOWIE & GS.

They get paid a stipend to cover their bills/expenses (for example their household bills still need to be paid) whilst they are in the house. http://www.bbspy.co.uk/bb17/news/061...icipation-fees

"“Unlike Celebrity Big Brother, housemates are not paid to participate as they have a chance of winning £100,000,” the rep commented.

Although C5 may not have shelled out CBB-style fees, all Big Brother housemates are paid a nominal stipend to cover their day-to-day expenses (such as rent and bills) while they are on the show."

I believe that amount would hardly cover his debts - which apparently are in the millions.

ETA: If he's bankrupt (having been bankrupt twice myself) - the money he earns could go to the Official Receiver's office, or at least a portion of it would, depending on the type of bankruptcy obviously.

Yeah but, he's not Anthea, he's only famous by association (far as I know anyhow). He was so not worth it, if I was BB I wouldn't have even bothered.

Yes, it was a very odd booking, it's not as if he would even have some salacious juicy gossip that BB would be hoping he'd reveal. He's not that interesting

I don't believe for a second that these people are paid a fraction of the amounts claimed

These days CBB is a minor TV show with a relatively small audience. They simply wouldn't have the budget to pay the huge fees being quoted

These figures are thrown out there by the celebrity's agents, in an attempt to create the illusion that their client's 'value' is much higher than it actually is
