CBB managed it's highest rating since launch last night
Salv*
19-08-2016
Celebrity Big Brother: 1.83m (9%)
999: What's Your Emergency?: 1.5m (7.5%)
The 80s with Dominic Sandbrook: 1.4m (6.7%)
Paul O'Grady's Animal Orphans (Repeat): 1.3m (6.4%)
Secrets of a Police Marksman: 933k (6.1%)

The above is what CBB was up against. CBB came 2nd in it's slot only behind the Olympics.

Everything is getting obliterated by the Olympics, everything except CBB, which has actually increased the last week.

Interestingly, this is the highest show since Farrah's and Jenna's return to the house on a summer series which also got 1.83m.

CH5 will be doing cartwheels, and like I said, these "ignore" tasks have a history of getting higher ratings than usual... Ignore the Obvious BB11, Pause Task BB14, When the Bell Tolls CBB13 etc... all of those tasks recorded the best ratings of their series. So it's no wonder why they keep doing this.

There was a big buzz around Bear's gf going in and delivering a killer blow. That's why the ratings went sky high. Bear's supporters wanted to watch and empathise, his detractors wanted to see him brought to heel. Everybody wanted to see this lady and hear what she had to say. She is BBs secret weapon.

how is she a secret weapon , she is just someone paid to go in to boost ratings , and it worked the story is about bear , i am a bear fan and did not watch to empathise , we all know bear is no choir boy , lillie is old news now , she played her bit part, cashed her cheque and is desperately hoping to raise her profile and do more reality

Yes, it was almost as good as Jasmine Waltz going back in and confronting Lee about Casey. Lee was a million times more sympathetic in his reaction, though.

Funnily enough I watched last night for the first time in 10 days or so because the Olympics is winding down a bit now.

Not going to quibble about words, ratings are all BB ultimately care about. It translates into ad revenues and profits.
Whether Lilly was acting or sincere, that was the bait that got a record number of viewers. And it has had a huge effect. Bear's position in the public has changed and not for the better.

It won't really matter, the ratings are usually above the 1.4m mark. That's not bad for a show full of "reality Tv morons".

And it annoys me because it means they'll keep putting morons like Bear and Lewis in the house.

Saying that Jason was voted for so I have faith in most of the public.

Jason was very boring but he played the game well at the end. I wanted Jayne to win.

He wasn't boring at all to me but we obviously prefer different traits in housemates

I did enjoy last night's show I laughed at the sheep! Loved Aubrey's husband's message !
And Sam's mum and some of the other visitors!Didn't like Marnie's cousin much but still found it funny counting the items in the windows!
There was a lot in it !

CBB may not be the show some people want...
but it is the "show" that the advertisers and the audience they are after wants...

the quality of the adverts is the best way to determine the health of a show... and as i said, they have been good from the start.

CBB is a great show, always has been. Not surprised to see the figures rising.
