The Flash Season Three (US Pace spoilers tagged)
Not sure if this has been posted yet but figured time for a Season Three thread as they start to release more news about what's going to be going on in Flashpoint.
They've now cast Mirror Master as one of the S3 rogues. |

A bit early for a thread isn't it?
![]() Either way, as fun as Season 3 Flash is likely to be, it's going to be an utter mess where continuity is concerned. We know how stupid (in the sense of character actions) some of Season 2 were, and I suspect we've got the same writers for Season 3, so we get to look forward to more daft character choices. We know (from the trailers) that Eobard is alive when he shouldn't be, and Barry has played around with the timeline, so should be targeted by the Time Wraiths. Yet, we know that Eobard will be joining Merlyn & Damien as part of some evil group (though I suppose this can be a prequel event of sorts). It has also been implied that (when Barry meets Kara) only he's going to remember their previous meeting, and as such, that answers an underlying question coming out of Season 2. If time changes on one Earth, it changes on them all (though I don't personally understand how that'll work, but still). Season 3 of Flash, and the subsequent Season 5 of Arrow, and Season 2 of Legends and Supergirl have great potential, but equally the writers can well and truly screw this up. |

Not really, casting news is coming out and the show starts in October so only two months away
![]() More casting news with Magenta making an appearance in Season Three: http://comicbook.com/2016/08/19/farg...sh-as-magenta/ Re continuity etc, the whole point of Flashpoint in the comics was it erased all previous timelines, I suspect the same will occur here up until the point at which they fix it back like they did there as well. The fact they can mess around with the timeline as they see fit is the beauty of a sci-fi comic book show, they just retcon everything to whatever they want it to be at the end

Our original timeline has Barry as the Flash, this new timeline seemingly has Wally as the Flash. Presumably a third timeline will have Barry & Wally as Flashes? I don't know where Jay is supposed to fit in to all of this as he's from a different Earth, but if all the Earth's are supposed to be merging (hello Supergirl) then it stands to reason that Garrick will play a part in all of this too. ![]() There's also the continuity aspect. If Eobard/Hunter change the timeline, Time Wraiths come. If Barry changes the timeline, they don't? |

I think once you adopt the attitude that mistakes are made by the writers who probably don't care about the source material as much as you do... |

I'll tell you what I tell everyone else. It's just a TV show... don't worry about it. I think once you adopt the attitude that mistakes are made by the writers who probably don't care about the source material as much as you do...
Otherwise, I might as well go and watch CBB, or some other lame reality show. |

I used to watch Arrow, until I gave up around S3...I was going to give Flash a try but reading this sort of thing makes me kind of glad I never did. Having to watch all these different shows just to know what's going on in one of them sounds way too time-consuming for someone not already invested.

Interesting opinions regarding timelines and such but I think the Time wraiths will be present to punish Barry for meddling with the timeline and that sets up the Flashpoint to reset the time line.
Anyway, anyone know if Supergirl's Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) will make an appearance in Flash? |

Flashpoint Predictions I don't know how many people are familiar with the comic adaption of Flashpoint, though it's obvious that many elements of that are not going to be relayed with the tv adaption because of rights and such. The series adaption obviously wont have the war between the Atlantians and Amazonians, nor will we see Thomas Wayne. * Barry wont lose his speed, he'll remain a Speedster throughout the duration of the paradox. * There will be a reference (possibly news article) to Thomas Wayne being alive. * Eobard Thawne will die (again) * Jay Garrick will be involved in assisting Barry with fixing the timeline. * Once Barry has figured out how to undo this paradox, the next new timeline will still have Wally 'Kid Flash' West in it. Slightly confused about Wally West.
We sort of saw him gain his flash powers in the Series 2 finale (or thereabouts), when there a definite caught in lightning moment, but that was because of actions and events that Barry was heavily involved in. Yet in a new Flashpoint timeline without(?) Barry he still has those powers? I wonder if they going to retcon the events so that Wally had speed powers from the start instead of Barry or are the still going to link it to Barry somehow. |

I have to say that I wouldn't be devastated if Cisco, Caitlin and Iris were lost in the timelines.
I know that heroes on the CW apparently need an extensive backroom team (containing at least one computer genius) but I'm much more Team Joe and Dr Wells.

![]() The reveal for the series paradox is probably based on something from the comics as far as Wally is concerned. The Wally in this adaption of Flashpoint is not the same Wally we know from Season 2, he's a different Wally, although at the end of Season 3, I fully expect a merge of Season 2, and Season 3 Wally's, so we'll essentially have Season 2 Wally, but with speed. Obviously don't know how this is going to work, and I'm not entirely sure why they implied that Wally (and Jessie) would be getting powers if they've since decided to reset everything... Quote:

When such a time does come though, we'll have that big question of why Barry can't just run back in time and stop said character from being killed.

Cannot wait for this season. Really enjoyed the last 2 of Flash. Love all that timeline stuff.
I wasn't too impressed with Arrow, so will probably watch the first couple of episodes to see if it holds my interest first. If not, then I will only watch the cross over episodes. Supergirl was ok, but not great. And I could take or leave Legends of Tomorrow. Flash is definitely the favourite for me.

Will be interesting to see whether any of the Supergirl villains end up on that evil team, and how they're going to involve Darkh in it (considering he's no dead). I know they can involve an earlier version of him, but with all the timeline stuff, did the events of S4 Arrow even happen? Did Ollie take Darkh down? |

Finally just seen the last ten episodes of Flash season 2, and disappointed with the ending (going back to his mum dying again to stop it ) - he just comes across as so selfish sometimes!
I suppose it's all come from the comics and there is actually some plan to it all, it just looked like they'd been greenlighted for a season 3 very late in shooting, and had to tack it on at the end... I've not seen any trailers for a new season yet, so hopefully it's worth watching, but after the way Arrow derailed as it went on, hope this doesn't do the same. |

Just binge-watched this season, found the start really boring but got into it the more it went on. Hated the finale though, going back and saving his mum just shows how selfish Barry is. Also means everything that has happened in the last two seasons are irrelevant and mean nothing atm.
Throughout the season my dislike for Wally grew stronger and stronger what a pointless whiny character. I was hoping he would get killed off. Jessie was just as whiny but brought a bit more relevance to the show. Please tell me Wally isn't staying around??? Also I loved Harrison Wells from Earth 2, sad he's gone and now the show will probably bring back the original one. |

I'm a bit disappointed that flashpoint didn't last longer but I understand why and hope the consequences make their way to the other shows too.

The episode has aired and this is US pace so it's not a spoiler....
that being said there are obviously still some changes in place so Barry hasn't fixed things yet so I'd say flashpoint is still going on..the arc is not a single episode! |

Woaaa, wait just a second. You're talking in the past tense, which implies the Flashpoint Arc is a mere single episode?

These are the rules And regardless, it's just nice to be considerate of others. US Pace is the thread discussing the show at the pace it airs in the US, as in once an episode has aired it if free to be discussed without spoiler tags as what has aired is not a spoiler. A Spoiler by definition in tv land is something from an unaired episode of a tv show giving away future plot points. As the episode has aired it is no longer a spoiler. However, if this was UK Pace then it would be considered a spoiler due to the episode not airing in the UK, just the US. Therefore, spoiler tags are not necessary for episodes aired in the US. Consideration is not required either as this, as stated, is a US Pace thread and as such anyone who enters does so knowing the episode has aired in the US and will be being discussed. |
