Apparently his contract was only for 3 months then it got extended for 6 years and he was over the moon about it. Something happened with a woman (in his private life) and the show cut him out. It was a massive blow. I don't know what the whole thing was about with the woman, but it made the press and ruined him. I'll have to look it up.

From memory it was something about him masturbating & smoking cannabis on webcam.

Betvictor currently offering Ricky to win at 33-1 ... bit odd as he was generally favourite to win with all the bookies earlier...

I think it would have been more that the woman involved sold the footage to the tabloids. I imagin plenty of people have web sex and have the odd joint in the privacy of their own home.

I agree 100% with all of the above.
In 'days of old', CBB was an insight in to the celebs lives and a glimpse of what they were like when not doing their celeb job. It's so far removed from that now, it's ridiculous. They have an absolute cheek to continue to call it Big Brother. It should either be renamed or scrapped. My opinion anyway. The original concept for BB was so perfect, with LF, it was people watching at it's best. I wish a TV company would have the insight to buy it and return it to its pure format, with LF, instead of the dross we are being fed now. |

It must be hard for him to trust anyone now. And I always remember him as a happy go lucky soul.
Edit - and I'd love to smack that woman in the face. |

I never said Ricky was acting like he is because of Bear being in the house - I meant that he is not being televised because the producers chose to show Bear's antics than interesting conversations. I am interested in the "old skool" BB of learning about people rather than seeing a bowl of coco pops being upturned and comedy egg routines and showmances - yawn!

Bear most certainly has not brought a lighter entertaining side to the house.
In fact he has done the complete opposite. He has single handedly oppressed the hm's and brought an horrendous negative atmosphere into the house. The guy has destroyed this years BB. Worst contestant by far of any BB/CBB. A true horror. I feel very sorry for Ricky having to co exist in such a close proximity to such a tormenting, goading muppet. I respect him so much more now, knowing how much he has gone through. ) there is nothing to suggest the removal of Bear would have miracuously transformed this ability to form bonds with his housemates - the assumption otherwise is a big leap and totally groundless - not that you were putting that arguement. And even if we concede that the entertainment offered by the Bear Show may not have been textbook "light" and arguably of a questionable nature that does not alter the general concensus backed up by the ratings that it was entertainment. So we have the proven entertainment of Bear vs the theoretical opening up of Ricky if Bear hadnt been in the show - an opening up that is an unknown and imho doubtful. Judgement = the ratings hit and great entertainment of the BearShow wins every time.

Totally agree with you. I like Ricky and would have loved to find out more about him, but instead we've had to endure a turd in a mask for 99% of the show.

Well happy to reiterate Virgil...I absolutely loathe him with a passion. I find him utterly repugnant and repulsive in every way.
Thanks a mill for giving me the opportunity to express myself again..phew...feels goooood ![]()

Woe is me. Woe is me. Close the blinds innit. Misery loves company.
Thankfully we've had our Bear to bring some daylight to that glum house full of dullards. Our Bear. Our ray of sunshine. Cheer up grumpy and vote Bear your winner. |

I really couldn't stand Ricky from what I saw of him on BBots but when he mentioned about his depression, I saw more depth to him and thought there's more to him than we are being shown. What annoys me is how false Renee is towards him. She clearly doesn't like him or respect him as a man but it takes a lot of courage to admit you have depression especially if you're in the public eye.

I have to say we all call him boring, but I think he's the nicest person in there by a mile. He would've been better on another series. (You could say that about anyone who isn't Bear I know, but Ricky has been hit the hardest by the abuse I'd say).
