I don't feel bad for Marnie - I think she knows he's a prick.
She's a clever woman with her own agenda, that one - and, frankly, I don't think Lewis features on it much ![]() |

I'm watching it now for the first time, Lewis is hitting all the right notes imo.

I do feel bad for marnie. He even said he might not see her for 6 months but his door is open because 'he likes to have a go'. He's a prick!

Did anyone see his Mum shaking her head when he said WTTE That he is so in love with Marnie ( gushing) ????
He was looking back to his Mum for approval and she was shaking her head as if to say NO ... As if he was doing something he ought not to And yet on her visit to the house she seemed to "approve of Marnie " Did anyone else notice this ? |

Yeah I'm not buying that she's so in love with him that she doesn't notice what a self obsessed muppet he is. Even in their fairy story she wasn't in love with him from the minute she walked in so she'd surely have noticed it in the first few days.

Well, at least we know where he gets his 'keeping up appearances for the public' trait from! Along with that vomit inducing Paris/Mother quote from him, did anybody else hear when he was talking to Rylan on BOTS he said recalling his relationship with Marnie, 'I love the fact she makes me feel like a little boy and I hope I make her feel like a woman?' He really does have mummy issues, but, unfortunately it's not that uncommon. You see it more so with mothers who idolise their sons over their other children and there is an undercurrent of sex to it (but, not necessarily sexual - it just gives the sons a somewhat warped view to their relationships). I'm sure plenty of books and films have been written about the topic. Tennessee Williams did a good job writing about it in some of his stuff, although he gave it a homosexual twist to it because he was gay himself and he had the same, suffocating intense relationship with his own mother (Lewis probably doesn't see it the same way though, but it has defined how he relates to women it seems). Another interesting one was Elvis; absolutely idolised his mother to the point of sainthood. He had good relationships with women, but he was turned right off of pregnant women and women who were mothers. Hence, from Priscilla's accounts, he wouldn't even have sex with her once she was pregnant and then had his daughter. So, their marriage was doomed from the start really. Also, slightly off topic, did anybody else hear when Lewis was on the panel, bleating on about his relationship and what it meant and then said, 'if it hadn't been for that girl, I'd have been kicked out the house weeks ago.' Then he sheepishly looked down and around him realising what he just revealed. What gaff! Such a pillock! Like most of us couldn't see through his greasy, foppish exterior?! |

The ''I took my mum to Paris'' story just seemed odd. Paris, known as the city of love - and all I could picture was him up the Eiffel Tower whispering sweet nothings into his own mother's ear about how he'll never find a girl like her! *VOMIT* *and vomit again*
It wouldn't have been so jarring if he'd said ''when WE went to Paris''. Instead, he had to point out it was HIM who took her to Paris! ![]() How bizarre to take your mother to the city of love, just too too bizarre for me to comprehend! He seems to be a bit of a 'mummies boy'. |

I misunderstood, I thought he said he was taking his mum to Paris (presumably on his 'release')

Are we to understand that in your world Paris may only be visited by couples? And you may take your mother to Rome, Barcelona, Athens or London, but NEVER EVER Paris because it is 'bizarre'. SMH. |

Sorry, I rhink Marnie's complicit in the fauxmance charade. Make some money in the showbiz mags then wave him goodbye
There are times when Lewis is speaking and her eyes positively glaze over then she turns it on again pretending he's so clever and fascinating. If nothing else that girl deserves an Oscar given what she's had to work with. |
