Ordinary, plain, average yes, common no.”
I'm quite familiar with it, although it's been overtaken a bit now by "she looks chavvy". Normally refers to someone's overall look....clothes, hair, a slightly unwashed appearance.
I get what Lou meant in relation to Marnie. Shes not the classiest dresser, and her hair and hunched shoulders dont say 'e!egant'. But I quite like that shes got a tomboyish or childlike vibe to her, and despite the fact that she's got a shade too much lip filler shes got lovely eyes and a bright smile.

Nose jobs are practically a right of passage when one enters the entertainment field. Angelina Jolie has had A LOT of work done, although her "starting point" was very good. Similarly, Megan Fox has had a lot of work, but she also had a good base. The list goes on....
BTW: Marilyn Monroe had her chin worked on. It was a bit weak and a surgeon bulked it out a bit using her own tissue. In later years, that tissue began to break down, and she wanted it redone....but her untimely death put the kibosh on that.”
So true. Angelina Jolie looked subtly different before she had sculpting in several areas. Most people would just think it's cos she's older until you look closely at before and after photos of her nose, chin, etc. and the proportions are completely different.
Megan Fox's before and after pics are very different though. She's a great example of superb cosmetic work: nose, cheeks, lips. She was pretty before and now looks like a goddess.
Blake Lively is another who was transformed by having a simple nose job and new teeth. Jennifer Aniston had her mouth slightly pumped a few years back but looked better with it, unlike Courtney Cox who's overdone the work.
I read a Hollywood plastic surgeon say there's very few big names, and especially over the age of 35, who don't have some work done....even if it's just a little filler to hide nose to mouth lines, or some botox for the crows feet. And there are subtle surgeries like neck lifts that don't make people look like Joan Rivers. I mean, does anyone really think that Emma Willis, Gwyneth Paltrow, J-Lo, Sandra Bullock, Eve Mendez, Penelope Cruz, and all those gorgeous women in their 40s ARENT having subtle procedures? And the men too...Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, all done.
We're so used to seeing plastic Towie types who all want to be noticeably 'done', or the odd disasters like Meg Ryan or Nicole Kidman, that we assume all others are natural or aging gracefully or blessed with great genes. They're not. Except maybe for the odd character actress like Kate Winslett, Julianne Moore and Naomi Watts. But then again, even Jodie Foster has been done.
