HO Why does Scott refer to himself as "us"
Louis_Brady

It's the most irritating thing in the entire world.

It's slang and really a very common thing in the North West where Hollyoaks is set.

Ah...it just sounds like he has an imaginary friend

When he looks in the mirror, that orange colour makes him dizzy and he sees himself twice.

Cause a single person alone can't be such a vapid cliched stereotype of a character.

It's a northern thing. Lots of us do it. In the North East is more like "is" than "us".

I'm North East so would say it more like "is" but sadly have been away to long and have lost much of my accent . Good spot though

They used to say that a lot on Brookside, didn't they? I quite like it. It's nice to get a variety of English accents and idioms in.

Have you ever been up north before? Practically everyone says that!

You say that but the other characters in Hollyoaks seem to find it just as weird/annoying.

Scott is a Gerodie so North East rather than North West where Hollyoaks is set. In fact, most characters on HO come from somewhere other than Cheshire - the Roscoes , Blacks and Nightingale are London or close by (Brighton), Cameron and Jack are Scottish, Diane is Liverpool etc.

My family are from the North East and a lot of people do say 'us' instead of 'I' or 'me'. It's hust an idiom like referring to a member of the family as "Our Liam" as you get a lot in Corrie.

Narcissism, And by god that guys got loads of it to go around

It's just standard Geordie talk. 'Us' and 'we' (pronounced wuh) are both used for 'I' and 'me'.
