Rumors flying around the net everywhere about a possible upcoming animated power of the dalek's release. Difficult to know what it is and what's true/ false, but the clip/ trailer sure looks good/ professional (check it out on the youtube link below).
the speculation is ranging from... fanmade animation (although it's one very talented fan if this is the case) to official BBC animated project to (the unlikely scenario) of animation to accompany recently found Power footage/ episodes. Don't shoot me, I am only a (hopeful) messenger.

It is fanmade. It is not due out for a few months and the guy has done most of the missing Hartnells. His aim is to complete all the missing episodes that have not already been attempted.

Interesting... Has he released the Hartnell ones? Any idea how/ where to get hold of them? given that they're fanmade, I presume you would need to source them on the internet somewhere.

Been removed for some reason. However guys, this was NOT the individual who has been re-animating Hartnell's stories and is planning on releasing an animated "Power" this September.

This was something totally different. Different animation style, different uploader. Curious stuff.

Aah obviously a usurper that I am unfamiliar with. Whorecons is your main man for the animations and enjoy.

I think any fan endeavour like this is commendable, but going a bit OT, having watched the Loose Cannon recon earlier this year, and just having rewatched episode 1 tonight, I really recommend it to anyone who hasn't yet given the recons a go. (easily found on yer youtoob.) You get used to the stills/odd snippets of film stuff and I think it gives a real sense of the story's atmosphere. Troughton is brilliant from the off in a vitally important story.

This story really *needed* to be good after the marvellous Hartnell era and introducing a new incarnation for the first time; it (seemingly) effortlessly rises to the occasion. Classic. Gawd, I hope the OP is right and some more footage has turned up. One can only hope...

The clips in question were part of a showreel made by Cosgrove Hall productions back in the day. Its not new and unfortunately there is no interest in animating Power any more because of cost and lack of interest.

People have been comparing pics from the cosgrove hall reel to this new clip. The suggestion being that there are marked differences between the two. The pics from cosgrove hall can be seen as comparison under discussion about this topic on facebook doctor who missing episodes discussion group

I've seen shots of the Cosgrove Hall effort, and it looks a lot more detailed than the one in the clip. I'm pretty sure they are different productions.

I've got a funny feeling that the ones in the mysterious YouTube clip have been rendered in a 3D app and then treated with a post-process effect to look 2D. Blender by chance?

Oh, I checked out those regretably named reconstructions on Youtube - errr, no. Not in the same league at all I'm afraid.

Don't want to continue rumour mongering, but this is getting interesting. Every time the clip is put on youtube, it is take down with the following message 'This video contains content from BBC worldwide, who have blocked it on copyright grounds'.
Well, ok maybe the BBC are blocking to protect their assets. sooooooo, then why are there other 'FANMADE' visuals using the original audio for missing episodes (inc Power) all over youtube and NOT TAKEN DOWN/ BLOCKED.

All very curious

Anyhoooooo'

there's an article here...

There have been long standing rumours that power of the daleks has been found. My money is on some episodes have been found and the BBC are animating the missing ones for release on DVD and BBC store. Being througtons first story and a dalek story the BBC must feel it more viable to animate than underwater menace which is not as popular a story.

The BBC are usually quite on the up-and-up when it comes to announcing found stuff. I'd love to be wrong and we get to see some of 'Power' finally, but I don't think that's what is happening.

I think it is more likely that they are pioneering the rather brave step of animating a completely lost story. Apart from seeing Power in a more dynamic version, it will be interesting to see how the video fares. If it's a hit, then we could see a lot more reconstructions of this quality.

Fingers crossed and good luck with whomever is doing this!

And remember that it's a rumour - and that rumours of (fill in any missing story/episode) have been doing the rounds since 1985 or so.

So don't hold your breath.

No one knows who has done it. Its a mystery at the present time causing much theorising.
The animation is not (currently available, although you will find the clip on the net somewhere. But not on youtube as taken down.

Im so glad I downloaded it before it got removed. It even got removed on facebook that only facebook members in that group can view so they must have a mole in that group who requested to join so they could complain and get it pulled.

I'll just leave this here.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/l...-shown-8731339

Have to say I'm not 100% sure that they haven't just created a story from rumours found in here though but time will tell I suppose.

So happy! It's what I've been hoping for ever since BBC Store did the Dad's Army animation. Please, please everyone buy this so the BBC do more! (Shame some idiot at the Mirror had to write that last line but who cares with this news!)

Edit: your edited post has put a slight question mark on this, but I would very much think that the story is true, especially given the YouTube clip.

This all looks unsubstantiated and generic to me. There's nothing formal here, and it seems to be a load of old gossip and rumours tarted up. Based on what other people have said (it was a Cosgove Hall trial-run, etc), I think this is all a load of fuss about nothing. This should be filed alongside "106 Missing Episodes Returned".

I very much look forward to being proved wrong.
