Is The Power Of The Daleks 2nd Doctor's first story after the first regeneration or not?

Must admit, thought this was a bit of You Tube Fan Made thing when I first saw this thread but pleased to see this story getting the full animated works as it is one of the best Dalek stories ever for me.
Maybe if it's a success they may try animating some of the other completely missing stories as well.

Of all the missing stories, this is the one I wish the most that they would find. The very first post-regeneration story! It will be interesting to watch the animated version though.
I do wonder how the regeneration is explained - it always seemed to be a bit vague in early Who. The way the 3rd Doctor explains it to Jo Grant in the Three Doctors left me thinking "That sounds like the writers don't actually understand it". |

It wasn't classed as a 'regeneration' then, more as a 'renewal'.
Certainly Troughton referred to being renewed with the help of the TARDIS, a process that for many years was seen by fans as meaning that somehow Troughton was a sort of younger version of Hartnell. It's not really until Davisons time that it's established that he's the fifth Doctor and Hartnell was the first. Until that point, those sort of facts had been left deliberately vague, hence the other faces in Brain of Morbius, which, although they are retconned away these days as being previous incarnations of Morbius, were definitely intended by the production team in 1976 to represent incarnations of the Doctor prior to Hartnell. |

Very glad this is happening, Power of the Daleks was one of the most tragic losses of Who's missing serials and a very important part of the show's history. It's a nice touch that the first episode will be released on the very day it turns 50 years old.
Does anyone know around how much this will cost? |

I don't think I'd be annoyed if they found any missing episodes! That emotion would not be welcome!

So what day are we predicting this story to hit youtube/dailymotion?
1 day after the itunes download comes up? Pretty much did with Web of Fear. |

In a strange way I was a bit annoyed about Enemy of the World and Web of Fear, because, at the time we had been led to believe there was so much more that had been found. If it hadn't been for the omni rumour, I would, of course, have been delighted.
It's not fair to have a go at the BBC for finding what they did (putting to one side for a moment that they threw it away in the first place!), just because some heedjit decided to spread a lot of tosh and other heedjits decided to believe their lies. That is nothing to do with the Beeb or the people who worked hard to recover these episodes. |

If you give any credence to any of those silly missing episode rumours, then you will live to be disappointed, The omnirumour was one of the more laughable and silly versions of these things that has been going around since the episodes in question disappeared.

That is nothing to do with the Beeb or the people who worked hard to recover these episodes. In fact it is to do with some people who worked hard to recover these episodes since Phil Morris did nothing to squash the rumours, in fact his enigmatic utterings added credence to them. And people are not idiots for hoping the rumours were true, there was a whole long thread on this forum about them and some very respected posters were making very positive comments. The fact is, whether you like it or not, when EOTW and Web were returned, there WAS disappointment that more hadn't been found. |

A shame it's not in colour, as that would be really fantastic.
