Well yes, except for the fact that he's an actor. That's his reality. Surely he could have ACTED the most outrageous?

No that's his job. Again the question is do we tune in to see Ricky the actor palying a part or do we tune in to see Ricky the real person behind the parts he plays.

He didn't want to do it so he didn't. I respect the fact that he wasn't going to be coerced into doing something that may have made him feel uncomfortable. Not everyone likes doing that type of thing.

Agreed. There are no rules stating he should act an idiot. Everyone would just accuse him of being a fake. It is not him, therefore it is his reality and he should be true to himself.
Bear could be criticised for always spoiling the tasks but if it is him and he wants to be an idiot, then fine but no one should critisise Ricky for not wanting to do a task.

Apart from being a nice guy and expressing dislike for Bear, Ricky has done nothing to make him the favourite. His character Fat Boy was a million times more interesting than Ricky is being in that house. And sadly, that character got crushed and flattened in the boot of a car that was being made into scrap, so no open door there.

Ricky is such a party pooper, even if he thought Frankie was going to win he could have still had a go even Lewis shaved a lock of his hair & he probably knew bear was going to win but still had a go.

I honestly think he's been humiliated enough this last year with that woman selling footage of him naked. Maybe it's still a sore point.

I agree. If being a bit of a show off isn't who he is, why would he compromise his personal principles just to do a task that he was never going to win anyway?
I don't watch soaps so had never heard of him before CBB but I like Ricky and I get him.

I'm not high on Ricky, but reading this thread, why the eff did Eastenders kill Fat Boy off? he was like the only halfway funny character in that miserable show.

He's not earning his fee at all

If he doesn't want to be 'humiliated' then why the hell did he go on BB ?

Well as I keep trying to say perhaps because he takes Reality TV a bit literally and assumed it was about being his real self. I suspect if it had had 'Humiliation TV' on the tin he wouldn't have accepted the invitation.

Maybe he wanted to have the experience and challenge without feeling the need to act like a knob? Taking part in something doesn't mean you have to accept every element of it without question.

Exactly this, Ricky knew he was being set up to look stupid and he didn't fall for it. There was no way he was going to outdo Frankie so why make a tit of himself. Well done Ricky!!!!!!

I don't think we've seen Ricky topless at all have we? He knew he'd have to take some clothing off to do that task, he wasn't going to do that.

Or ''locket'' of hair as he called it.

(Or ridiculous half-hearted attempt to be ''out-there'' as I would call it)

Better to not do it at all, than look pathetic. Good for Ricky.

People also forget that Eastenders has a huge cast and has a serious work culture plus the whole moral code in the contract so they do tend to keep a low profile. Even Jacqueline Josia who is with that ex-Towie, Dan doesn't get too involved in all that reality stuff. With the exception of Daniella W, I personally have respect for Eastenders actors as its substance over style (most of the time).

So it is not surprising that he is a bit like dear in head lights and probably finding it really hard with all these extreme characters in the house. He probably doesn't interact with loads of so called celebrities normally and hasn't been on many shows. I can imagine it being intimidating on all counts.

Plus the guy was depressed! I think its so brave of someone to come out and try to pull himself out of the darkness and take the plunge to do this. BB is not for the faint hearted and I don't think we will truly understand until we actually sit in the house and have to hear people screaming at nothing, every word you say, analysed and twisted plus people pulling out their boobs and willies at every given opportunity, ”

I agree with you. Not everyone has to behave like a moron

It was in keeping with who he is and he if had done it he would have looked desperate

And saying very well you're quite right; sometimes I actually forget reality does indeed just mean being real not necessarily bells & whistles entertaining, shame on me.

I agree & treacle plus feathers certainly isn't worth 'having a go'. Best to stay clean & bow out gracefully. He's not an 'outrageous' character so why try? That's not a bad trait either.

I could imagine if he did do it other people would be making post saying he is so desperate to win blah blah blah.
