My initial reaction when he decided not to take part was disappointment in him.
On reflection, I think he just thought he didn't have a cat in hells chance of winning against Frankie so just handed it straight to him. |

He's not earning his fee at all
If he doesn't want to be 'humiliated' then why the hell did he go on BB ? |

Why would any one with an ounce of sense want to be humiliated? because it seems as if that is what BB is all about now. Good for him not playing there pathetic immature games. I bet they sit in the back rolling with laughter at the hms that do take part. The idiots that they are. Why don't they think up decent task instead of stupid pranks like the ones they are showing. Oh wait their brains won't stretch to that will it?
I don't think there is anything in their contract stating they have to act like performing monkeys 24/7 and I agree with the comments saying that surely reality tv should be about keeping it real to oneself and not compromising personal principles if it feels wrong to do so |

Well yes, except for the fact that he's an actor. That's his reality. Surely he could have ACTED the most outrageous?

Absolutely. Being made to look like a tw*t isn't mandatory. Maybe he has his own reasons for wanting to experience BB and doesn't see that he has to play along with the bits he chooses not to.

I like Ricky. He's a well balanced bloke who has a sense of calmness about him, and seems to get on with everyone, but he could've at least done something!
Drawing an eye ( I think that's what it was ) on his palm just didn't cut the mustard. Big Brother is all about the tasks, designed to, let's be honest, make a fool of themselves and give the viewer a good laugh. He didn't need to drench himself in honey and feathers, but could've attempted something more than what he did do. 😩 |

Lots of tasks in that house with lots of HMs knowing they might not win, but they always try regardless, obviously Ricky is above all that.
FMs making excuse's for him yet again. zzzzz |

Exactly. He would have only been called fake or tying to win by those supporting others on here. Good on him. Stay principled and keep it real for yourself.
For me, they were both being true to who they are which is far better than playing to the cheap seats just to get airtime. Expected to like Sam a lot more than I actually do and had ever heard of Ricky before CBB so I'm judging on what I'm seeing in the house rather than any preconceived ideas. I would have done exactly what Ricky did. To use my own example, I go to a huge annual event for the sort of music I'm into (soul and house). Every year, there is a fancy dress theme. Now I personally don't do fancy dress ever and so choose not to participate despite probably 80% of the others there dressing up. People often say there is no point in going if we don't throw ourselves into the whole theme and dress up but why should we miss out on going for the music or go along with the fancy dress and feel uncomfortable? Being an adult means we make our own choices about what we do and don't feel is right for us personally. |

He might have found ridiculing the act of tarring and feathering which this task represented in extremely poor taste....possibly? Look it up as it's a humiliating, degrading and horrific public experience that has been done in my lifetime to young women in Northern Ireland paid abroad.
