This is a bit ridiculous. The show has been on the air for what, 11 years now? They've got 11 winners. I know that some of them they wouldn't allow on the show or go near, but surely it makes sense to have one of the winners at judges houses helping out who has actually been through the whole process and has a bit of a history and has experienced life after X Factor. I'm not a Fleur fan anyway, but she's one single!! Just one single and an album that didn't exactly sell very well. It would make more sense to have someone like Leona who's been in the music industry and experienced the ups and downs and life after the show. Or Little Mix who have had continued success for five years now. Or even people like Joe and Alexandra would be interesting and could offer good input...they've been through ups and downs in the industry post their time on the show and they know what it's like. Fleur left the show too recently and has had one single. It's just a bit silly.

Agreed

But remember Simon wanted Fleur to win and ended up getting rid of the actual winner (Ben) as soon as possible and kept boosting Fleur

he calls the shots

I am afraid that Leona is yesterday fish and chip paper, and it is ideal for Fleur to give assistance to prospective contestants with advice as to what may happen in their careers.

I kind of like that Simon is really pushing Fleur.
I just hope she has some decent music to release this year, she really must be sick of SAX by now

I am really rather embarrassed for you that you seriously write this tripe. All Fleur has to show for her career is one overrated single and a mediocre selling album. She is nowhere near eclipsing Leona's success.

Lol at Cowell still plugging one hit wonder Fleur, as if she is in any way relevant.

As for Fleur, I get the feeling she isn't going to last until this time next year. She's had one hit so far. I always get the impression she thinks she's much bigger than what she actually is.”

It's a sad state of affair if a gold album and platinum single isn't seen as a success - the industry has changed so much - streaming has taken over - move on - Fleur has had success - a few years back it would have been different she's selling as many albums as any other artist in today's climate . You can dislike Fleur all you want but don't try and tell us she hasn't had success.

I'm looking forward to seeing her back i still think it's to soon for her but itl be good to see what she brings to the table with her new music also.

Leona had success but she can't shift millions now her last album what 24k? - end of the day it's way it is she's had past success of course, like I said it's all changed now, if she broke out now she would probably not sell as much as she did in 2007.

Read olly murs article on DS music he even explains it.

Ughh. I have nothing against Fleur East but the whole premise of the show annoys me now. What's meant to happen is the public votes for a winner and that winner is then offered every chance to become a star.

Not that the show pushes their preferred contestant incessantly throughout the series and afterwards, trying oh so hard to make them happen, while tossing the winner that the public spent their money voting for, out with the bathwater. Ever since she came second its been Fleur Fleur Fleur like she's the second coming, not someone who's had one #3 single and a 'smash' #14 album.

I like Fleur and her album is underrated but apart from Sax (which was a Uptown Funk rip off) and all the promotion that came with it, she has flopped, even with all the buzz and push from Simon. More and More failed to chart even with a TV awards show performance which is more promo than most artists get.

'She's selling as many albums as any other artist in today's climate' is a kind of a lie. She's sold 100k and that's with all the buzz around her and the X Factor performances. Jess Glynne sold 800k+, LM have sold 600k, Y&Y have sold 300k+ to name a few and they aren't even WW global superstars like Beyonce, Rihanna, Drake or Kanye West.

Like someone has said already in this thread, if an X Factor Winner or even runner up was to guide other artists, Fleur shouldn't be the one over say any member of JLS, One Direction, Alexandra Burke, even Little Mix.

Zayn Malik, Ariana grande, fifth harmony, Rihanna all have silver or gold albums

Jess glynne had 4/5 singles before her album was released, she got real lucky with great tracks and features, and she was everywhere! You can't compare Jess glynne success which went further than XF promo not to mention her Grammy acclaimed single with clean bandit!

Fleur could end up having a better run with her next album you just can't call it! Especially as she's stated its a completely different direction and hinted at collabs! Right place right time - sax still smashed!

I have already said I think it's way to soon for Fleur to be doing this, it's funny everyone else calling Fleur a flop except her record label, the media, people outside this forum thinks she's done well. She's got her clothing line which has done well, she's done fitness videos with puma success has gone further than just her music.

However I wish they had her doing it on the next series rather than this soon but I'm sure shel be great / it's not her fault that Simons put her on there - yes little mix should be on there over her but for whatever reason they aren't. They are still on the show all the time

Personally I think Fleur is the ideal person to be at judges houses as she has had years of experience working her way up through the music business, and not one of these artists who thinks fame comes overnight.

Yes, Yes, Yes Preach!

and it's so boring

PS She looked dreadful at V Festival, blue hair and a shocking leotard!!

Thats your opinion oz, but every pop singer wears a leotard, its stage attire she doesnt dress like that on a regular day, shes actually very stylistic hence the fashion line.

I personally think she looked cool at V Blue hair is only temporary, and she smashed it, everything was very positive about her performance and her live band were great, her voice has improved loads to, she has a really good vocal coach - Joshua, he works with Little Mix.

I again think Fleur should have waited a while before being included in decisions for X Factor but on the other hand she has got knowledge and she has seen alot in the industry, shes been working for 11 years flat out, she could offer some invaluable advice about the industry, I know shes only just come out on this scale, however I'm sure she'l be great, shes a really nice girl so should make the contestants feel at ease along with Alesha.

Agree, killed it stone dead, but now the thread is probably perfect - just a couple of fans posting one line every few weeks and nodding to each other sagely!

Anyway FWIW, I can't see the point of having Fleur help pick a contestant as she's not exactly tearing it up out there.

I don't know, think Fleur has some insight to impart on the new contestants, mainly in the group category :"If you get kicked out in the first live show, there's always the chance to come back later as a solo artist, providing you have managed to catch Simon's eye somehow..."

On a side note, I think it's sweet how both Fleur herself AND the Syco PR officer between them manage to keep the Appreciation thread going on the main board...

It's nice to see Fleur picking up a day's work here and there. I know some fans were keen to see her do a collaboration so it's good they've managed to get internationally successful panel-seat-sitter Alesha to sit along side her and say nothing much of interest also. It'll provide a nice counterpoint to Louis' overexcited gurning.

and considering the choices were made by Syco and the producers in advance, its pretty much just a free holiday

- Fancy seeing you guys here! Hope we're all primed and ready to go with another 'thrilling' season of the best completely manipulated and contrived karaoke contest on prime time tv

this thread is also about Alesha and as per usual its everyones chance to bash Fleur, If you dont like her fine but you still have the same opinions, Fleur will happen more as she releases more material she already has done really well for a newbie and eventually once her material is better shes got the potential to do fantastic. She might not be to your taste but she has talent, at least she sang a live set with an actual band, all through V unlike Beiber.

She doesnt get picked what she does with her career thats SYCO and her manager, would you pass a chance at promotional purposes? nah.

Yet you still watch it, maybe its time you use the button on your remote control and turn it over, you must like it really because you wouldn't watch it nor would you post relentlessly about the fact you hate the karaoke contest and that no one has talent, Of course I'm sure you can sing like Whitney and dance like MJ. Please do stop your moaning and either turn off or have a actual discussion and add something new, No I'm not being rude just telling it like it is.
