Mark could work there too. They would slot into the place like a glove.

Certainly something for them to consider for the future as I think the Carters run in the Vic will end when Danny calls it a day anyway. Which I think might be sooner than people expect now.”

I like this idea. Martin has developed into a great Everyman type character.

Kim and Vincent could be axed.

They are black which means they will probably be safe, the BBC have to work on a quota. I remember the actress who played Yolande kicking off about it.

I like the Carters in the Vic but alternatively, I agree that Martin and Stacey would be a good choice.

Belinda and Kyle could live there too, Kyle could do the cooking and if and when Kat comes back she could join them too!

Good thinking about Kat.

As are Denise, Patrick and Claudette. Plus axing Kim and Vincent could easily be filled by another black actor and actress. If Kim goes, they could cast Denise's other sister Daphne, though with a much better actress who's not a comedy character.

Nothing which highlights that they are very one dimensional characters and that imho is the sort of thing it would appear SIC is clearing out from the show....

Sounds about right. Shame if they leave

Daphne is never going to happen. EastEnders spent years waiting for the right role for Tameka. She is there for the long haul.

They will stay in the Vic for the time being. Besides you can't axe a woman who has been granted maternity leave.

It's great lots have different ideas and it's true that O'Connor has a right to remove the Carters from the Vic but it'd be a foolish move. If he wants to bring back Sharon to the Vic, fine no problem, give her a stake/management role but I don't want the Carters leaving the Vic.

What do you think Mick and Linda offer the Vic that say Martin and Stacey couldn't?

I want the Carters to remain in the vic, they are the best owners since Sharon and Grant, SOC would be insane to get rid of them.

Sharon's not in a position to get involved in the Vic. She's got a dying husband and his three businesses to keep an eye on. He can't work.

I don't think they should leave the Vic.

Where are Martin and Stacey getting the money from to buy the Vic? The Fowlers were never really a flashy family who owned businesses around the Square let alone the central business. Martin's the sort of guy to be happy with his small lot in life. His own cousin who has had businesses in Walford for years hasn't even owned the Vic yet.

I like Martin and Stacey. I just don't think they're a good fit for the Vic.

The Fowlers don't have the charisma for the pub. I voted to bring in a new family.

I don't mind Linda fronting the Vic, but Mick is a bore. When you look back at previous landlords - Den, Grant, Frank - you realise just how dull Mick is. The idea of him running the Vic single-handedly in Linda's absence doesn't exactly fill me with joy. The Carters are also approaching three years in the Vic, which is probably about the average length anybody stays there in one continuous stint. I know it feels like the Mitchells were in there forever, but there were significant gaps in between (such as Sharon in 2001, the Moons 2002-04 and Chrissie in 05).

I would love Janine to pull off a Sharon-style secret return and buy the Vic. They could also introduce a recast Tiffany and Liam. But I also think a Sharon/Shirley partnership could be great, there's loads of potential for comedy and drama there.

Of course I would ideally love Kat to bring her significant other but with him having a serious illness he might not make it back!

If Babe & Johnny leave then it's going to be very quiet with just Mick and Whitney there as Linda be away.

I really think Danny Dyer will quit if Sean O'Connor takes the Carters out of the Vic.

Nobody can compare to Peggy as owner of the vic though, that's when it was at it's best imo. It will never be as good no matter who takes over

There's a good chance he would do just that!
