Mark had HIV though. surely if they ever went down a pregnancy route, Ruth would likely have it too?

Besides, by the time she left Ruth was a really dull character, so I wouldn't be fond of dredging it up.

Ruth left Mark because they couldn't have children (as Mark was HIV+). As I recall she took up with Mark's Irish Cousin, Connor and then left as she was pregnant. Connor and his daughter Mary went looking for her.

they covered it on Hollyoaks with mercedes and malachy and there is a way to have children. that being said back in the day of Ruth and mark it may not have been possible

Ruth and Mark were looking at ways to safely have children, it was a whole (rather dull) storyline that I remember mentally muting after the conversation about washing Mark's sperm.

I really wouldn't want Ruth back. She was like a Scottish version of Michelle with her moaning and face like a slapped arse.

Ruth and Mark looked into it too. They were looking into it around the time Michelle left the Square. I can't remember whether they tried it and it failed hence their decision to foster or if they decided not to go ahead with it at all.
