What is this? What's he doing? What does it mean?
It's the Big Brother eye, surely? His way of saying that he wasn't going to do anything embarrassing because millions would be watching.
I don't watch Eastenders so I didn't know anything about Ricky but I understand he has he his troubles, behaved badly in the past & paid dearly for it. Like Darren Day when he got angry & upset when he thought that someone had suggested that he had fallen off the wagon, Ricky would be extra careful not to do anything to give anyone any leeway to suggest that he is not now a clean, sober and reliable person for future employment.

I'm not a massive Ricky fan, I don't have strong views on him one way or the other but I don't think it was particularly stupid either.

He's also received a TV award for most talented newcomer acting award! No major scandal just usual ! He was very popular in EastEnders but also done strictly come dancing!
He probably thought he couldn't outdo Frankie!

I didn't really watch (just FFwded through) but he was seriously outgunned against Frankie. Maybe he just thought 'what's the point?'
