That's exactly what i said a few posts up

Why would they be a delicacy if they were harmful??!! They are preserved, and housemates have been eating them for years, I don't understand the fuss

Ricky has only refused to do 2 tasks which either would have made him look ridiculous or heave/vomit. Maybe he had his reasons - I don't think he's in a good place right now. Perhaps Emma will ask him why he refused when he leaves. I don't like any of these hms much but Ricky is one of those I dislike least.

Nothing to do with them being not harmful. Monkey brains and roasted puppy dogs are perfectly safe "delicacies" in some countries. Why should anyone be expected to eat something that is totally repellant to them? Well done Ricky, don't pander to the pathetic childish bb bollox.

If he didn't want to 'pander' to BB, then he shouldn't have taken their money

Ricky is probably a really lovely and nice guy but he is a boring HM and really hasn't contributed anything to the entertainment of the show (imo). Nice guy and likable but rubbish HM.

I don't see why not. Not playing BB's game is a good way to play the game. Maybe it's why he's favourite to win.

Dreadful HM. Chuck him out.

Not really. BB wouldn't have given him rotten egg as that really would have been a h&s issue and they, as employers, would have a duty of care. They don't want an employee taken to hospital with salmonella. And he could have sued. They really would have difficulty recruiting new HMs if they started to poison them.
Century eggs are preserved for a few weeks. They maybe an aquired taste, they may not have a nice texture to the western palate & they mazy smell sulphurous but they really wouldn't have given him anything poisonous. If he had only tried the merest sip or dipped his finger in & liked it before refusing then that would have been fair enough.

Maybe he has an egg allergy!
I can't eat anything with egg in it, so I would have point-blank refused to drink it!

Same applies. They couldn't legally ask a HM to consume anything to which they were allergic. It really could hospitalise them of worse. He would have had to declare it on a health form before he went into the house. And even if it had slipped through & he was allergic but hadn't declared it, he would have said so? I am allergic to one particular food & always have to say so. I defended Ricky on the honey & feather task but still say he should have tried the merest drop before refusing this one.

Yes he's a bit of wimp isn't he he might have even got something worse like trying to eat a ginger biscuit.

Not sure of the fuss to be honest. Renee declined an eating task and it hardly rated as a blip on the bottom of the Richter Scale. It's not as if he is sitting out the tasks just declining a small element which would be pretty revolting.

If he is allergic to eggs even the slightest drop could cause anaphylactic shock. Why on earth would he even consider doing that?

That simply wouldn't have happened

If Ricky was anaphylactic then BB would have been aware of it and never presented the task in the first place

Anyone with a 'real' allergy always carries epi-pens and takes the precaution of telling others in event of an emergency

It was to decide the most outrageous HM. Judging by the outrage of some here he deserved to win. Ricky is far more subtle than Frankie.

I don't have a lot of faith in the producers, the rubbish they spout about how the care of HM's is their primary concern, doesn't wash with me!

I don't carry an epi-pen (not everyone does), & have a severe allergy to eggs! Which is why if I'm eating out I always tell the staff I have an egg allergy!

Understood, which is why BB would not have asked him to do this task if he were allergic. And even if he us, and didn't declare it (which I find hard to believe), he would have said so at the time. The HMs have been eating scrambled eggs & I don't have much faith that the would make sure every last molecule of egg was removed when washing up, Bear has geen smashing eggs all over the place and they have been eating an awful lot of pasta (I know you can get egg free pasta) do I honestly don't think it is an allergy. BB and the producers would be on the receiving end of an almighty law suit if that were the case.

I don't even think he dislikes eggs that much of surely he would have said 'can't do it, sorry. I hate eggs, they make me heave" or similar? That's what anyone would say under the circumstances. I like Ricky and have stuck up for him but I don't think he is at all happy, even when things are calm & get is chatting with his mates & maybe he just wants to leave now although he did perk up at the end playing in the "snow"

Why don't you carry your epi pens when you go out to eat ?

Why are we even considering the allergy route? If he'd had an allergy he would have said so.

Would you keep your egg allergy a big secret if you were asked to eat egg?

Talk about having a baseless idea and running with it!

I agree - maybe he is just dislikes throwing up. BB seem to think it is entertaining for some reason though.
