After earning the lowest score of the week in Wednesday's first live show, Noddy and Karen are hoping they can impress the judges more with their Tango. "I was a bit disappointed with the comments and the scores, but that's the nature of the show and we just have to move on from it," Noddy says. However, Noddy seems to be struggling with Tango training. Karen tells us "Noddy is finding the Tango quite difficult. He's finding it tough to get stuck into the character of the dance, whilst concentrating on the technique as well. I've choreographed a routine that I think will suit him perfectly, so I just hope the judges aren't as harsh as they were last week!"

I think Steph/Gino will be the journey contestant, and Noddy will be Moira 2.0

This week will see Paula and Giovanni dance one of the first Foxtrots of the series. Paula seems to be enjoying Foxtrot training, saying "I love the Foxtrot; it's so elegant and classy, and I love how romantic it is. Giovanni's really focusing on the storytelling this week so I get to show off a bit of acting!" Giovanni echoes Paula's optimism, telling us "Paula is a beauty with the Foxtrot. She is so natural and elegant that it comes to her like a duck to water. I think Len is going to love our routine." But will the judges enjoy it as much as he thinks? Find out as Strictly Come Dancing returns for its second live show this week.

(Due to Freshers week and other events going on in my life right now, this will be taking a one week hiatus. The next show will be on Wednesday 21st, and then every Wednesday thereafter. Sorry! )

Afraid not, at least for the time being. I've been snowed under with uni work (and work work) so have barely had any time to myself, let alone enough time to write up these shows. I will hopefully be able to do a shorter series over the Christmas holidays though.

I still feel rather OCD about not finishing (barely starting) this series, so I'm pleased to announce that I will finish this over the Christmas holidays.

Whether it's just a one off special where a winner is revealed at the end, or a full length mini version, it will definitely return!

BBC bosses have today announced that Strictly Come Dancing will air a Christmas special, despite the most recent full length series being dropped mid-series due to "falling ratings".

Six celebrities featured on the ill-fated series will star in the special; singer James Morrison, Coronation Street actress Paula Lane, Slade star Noddy Holder, pop icon Bonnie Tyler, TV chef Gino D'Acampo and former Olympic athlete Kelly Holmes. All six of the celebrities will dance with their original dance partners.

The special will air on the 23rd December, with viewers being given the chance to vote for their favourites. The results will be announced on Christmas Eve, with a special group dance and a musical performance from Mariah Carey.

Yay! Happy this is backed, I missed it!

(Slightly salty about Steph McGovern not making the Christmas cut, though )
