Ricky

Ok I posted this before already

I wondered if anyone else was a bit disappointed in Ricky not participating. As I said before, Fatboy (I reckon) would have jumped at the chance to get involved with the tasks, and I think its a shame when people's alter egos seem better than the actual person in real life.

That said, I do think Ricky is a nice guy. I'm just disappointed in his lack of being a team player.

As a side note, I must add that I'm quite aware Ricky is not Fatboy, and that I'm not stating that I expected him to go in as Fatboy, just that I think Fatboy, whilst being a fictional person, would have displayed much more team spirit than Ricky seems to.

I've got to add this because when I said it before I had people saying things like Ricky plays him he's not real, or people go in as themselves not as their different personas. DUH!!

I think he is keeping his head down because of what happened before, he what's to carry on he's acting skills, it's a shame really because I think he would of been a good entertainer he is a nice guy

From having no real thoughts about Ricky either way, I have grown to actively dislike him. Having little or no personality is one thing but to sneer at the tasks as though it was beneath him to get involved is quite another. Being saved has clearly made him think he's invincible.

When there''s a potential saboteur of tasks waiting on the sideline to pounce at any time to wreck said task at will, competition becomes meaningless. If you're smart enough to realise that why put yourself through humiliation or discomfort.

Aha some very good points thanks guys

Perhaps he is keeping his head down?? Didn't think of that. And quite right about the potential saboteur waiting on the sidelines ready to pounce like the school bully.

Though I still think Ricky should attempt to try them as everybody else seems to, hence the team player thing.

Much better responses this time around, last time I posted about this I had a load of replies to explain to me the difference between Ricky and Fatboy, as if I was born last week and havent a clue how acting works... like i said to them, the point of the thread was basically me saying we would have gotten more out of Fatboy.

We don't know that Fatboy would've joined in with the tasks. Just because he was a kind and good natured character, it doesn't mean he'd have been up for making a fool of himself. Ricky made more of a fool of himself trying to get off with Chloe in week 1 than in rejecting a task.

Whatever. get over your silly jumping on the band wagon nonsense. It was his right to refuse the task not yours. When someone behaves normal and gets picked on because they don't behave like a halfwit, ganging up on people, getting legless, burping and farting around people etc it says it all really. Go and watch silly Bear or whoever it is you are supporting and stop digging for insults for Ricky to make yourself look good.

I don't think much of Ricky for not even trying to drink that century old eggnog, I think it was. Not impressed at all. Even if he had tried to and then refused to carry on, okay. To not even attempt to drink it shows that he's not willing to try and help his team at all. Not impressed at all. I think he's refused to do things before in tasks as well.

This is how I feel, the entire expression on his face during that and the 'outrageous' task was of contempt for the process.

He's attempting - and is succeeding - in being such a complete bore, he's sailing underneath everyone's radar. I hope Ch5 kept their receipt.

Why does he love that black long hoody cape thing so much?
It is summer, kinda strange he likes to hide alot, in one place you cant hide.

If the tasks were proper tasks like in the old days instead of covering yourself in honey or eating old eggs maybe he would be interested in doing them.

People call him boring. The tasks are stupid and boring.

I don't think he is boring, just not loud or aggressive on purpose. He does gossip behind peoples backs.
I have found so many other housemates boring over the years.
He is interesting because he is being guarded, there is something I cant put my finger on.

I wasn't getting straight answers, thought I'd ask again and get some proper ones.

Hope this is a proper one:

I like Ricky because he is quiet, nice and gentle. The antithesis of some in that house.

There is always a place for a quite calm person in the house, to counterbalance the idiocy and nastiness that is Stephen Bear.

I doubt Ricky will win, but my goodness, he deserves a medal for his restraint in not loosing it with the dumb and dumber duo of Stephen Bear and Colin Heavy D.

For that alone...he's my winner

Bear could learn a lot from the quiet rebel that is Ricky

How anyone can criticise him for not doing tasks with all of the other mumpheads in that house creating havoc and monopolizing screen time I do not know.

I was perfectly happy with Ricky until he (a) used the ubiquitous "I love you" to people he clearly didn't even like (they all do it bar Sam) (b) kept making it up with Bear (again, something they all do - lord knows why) and finally (c) moaned about Sam with Renee.
Unforgivable!
