Just logged into these forums for the first time in ages to see what the general vibe is towards housemates and I'm astonished to see any support whatsoever for Ricky.

Ricky, FFS!

What on earth has he done to gain anyone's support whatsoever? The guy might as well be wallpaper. He's a complete nobody inside that house.

Can anyone explain?

Save that sh*t for Twitter. This is supposed to be a forum, not a collection of street-corner preachers.

So why are you ranting and demanding people explain themselves.

There is nothing whatsoever that I can see in Ricky that would make him a winner. Unless you count the fact that he hasn't been nasty to anyone. Although equally he hasn't done anything exceptionally good either. It's a mystery!

Huh? What's the problem in asking somebody to explain themselves?

There has been huge anti-Bear sentiment on here. When people take so vehemently against one character, they often look for the antithesis and put their support there.

Ricky has been mild-mannered, tolerant, unflappable, quiet, kind and considerate.

But unfortunately he has also been uncommitted, reticent, uninspiring and frankly a bit beige.

He is nice and reserved - how boring!!

From what I have seen, Ricky can be rather sly and likes to 'stir the pot'..... in the words of Hughie 'a liary-arsed story carrier'. Am also unimpressed by his reluctance to 'play the game', for example, his refusal to drink that delicious eggnog last night.

In summary, Ricky takes himself far too seriously, can be pretty aggressive on occasion and is more than a little shady. ...just saying....

It wasn't eggnog. It was a disgusting concoction. Bear gets grapes, Sam gets a ginger snap and Ricky gets something that would make him throw up.

I decided I wanted him to win when after the electric shock task. he was hilarious throughout that, and based on that I don't care if he didn't drink the century eggnogg. At least he stuck a shock pad on his ar*e.

Why does he hide behind the black cape?
Gonna be a heat wave this week, surely he will ditch the hoody outside?

Because perhaps some people actually like a nice calm character instead of someone who needs to perform slapstick in order to get camera time.

To a lot of people big brother means rewarding nice behaviour and it's a lesson in morality to some.

Doesn't make good tv though

I think Ricky could be the most boring HM ever, even worse than Alex

You've put that so well. That's how I feel about him.

I stopped watching for two weeks and like OP returned here and was really surprised at his popularity here - he's a lovely guy, no doubt, so I figured he'd be liked but not THAT much.

I can understand him being adopted as the anti Bear nice guy vote but he wouldn't inspire me to pick up the phone. Lovely lovely man but can't see him as a winner.

the fact you can't fathom why Ricky is ANYONE'S favourite says more about you than him. He obviously has huge support since his fatboy days and has proven he is a level-headed guy with sound opinions.

Ricky has not revealed much of his personality, apart from performing the dull Mr Nicey-Nicey act.

He is also a delicate and precious fragile little flower who refuses to take part in any task which may harm his pristine image. So, for me, not a team player, boring, sly and rather shady.

Not a deserving finalist, although he will get a fair few votes due to being 'easy on the eye'. Hope he doesn't win.

I suppose everyone likes different housemates, but I wasn't very impressed at all when he refused to even attempt to do that egg thing task. I've not seen him stand up to anyone at all, although I'm not saying he hasn't. I thought he was okay at first, but I'm now finding him boring and not a team player at all.

He seems nice and has principles he isn't willing to just do anything for good tv. Possible doesn't make him a winner but does make him The WInner in life IMO.

Ricky is the only hm left who hasn't either annoyed or revolted me. He's also one of the few this series who is not a reality show moron acting out all the time to get attention. I don't expect him to win but would be happy if he did. Haven't enjoyed this series at all and stopped watching for 10 days (first time ever) because I didn't find the squad and heavy D remotely entertaining. BB should have issued them with ASBOS..

His image is far from pristine and that's why he's in the Borehamwood studio next to Tesco instead of the Borehamwood BBC studio. It must be galling coming to that town for cbb after six years of driving there for EastEnders.

I`ll never forget that night he almost got with Chloe. It could all have been so different.
