Clearly they do in the MCA world
![]() That ganache looks a little bit shiny/greasy (but that's just my eyes I think...) We could have guessed they'd have wanted more of it! Ditto for Lachlan's brandy omission I think it will be close |

Another low scoring guest chef. Are they running out of chefs willing to cook or are they deliberately getting chefs lower down the pecking order to make sure the contestants get a pin or two, I wonder?
I love Shannon Bennett as mentor, he's the best they've had and I hope he stays as long as the show lasts. He actually understands what mentoring is, unlike Matt Moran, who seemed to think it meant bullying and frightening them, and Kylie Kwong, who is very pleasant but seemed scared to actually give them actual advice and just dropped hints. |

Shannon is lovely, he's very supportive and offers good suggestions, which is just what they need, I think. |

I love love Shannon, he really is the best mentor. I too hope he stays forever!
![]() Maybe age is doing something to my memory but I don't recall anyone doing amaaaazing South East Asian dishes this season. These are the ones I really look forward to seeing them, I recall Mindy was fantastic at those. |

He is 100 times better than Kylie Kwong (even though I adore her)

I assume the chefs not based in Australia don't see the point in just doing the one show but might as well do a week's worth if they are in the area and/or turning up especially for it?
BTW, I mentioned in last year's MCA thread that Shannon Bennett's Vue De Monde restaurant had lost its third hat (we don't have Michelin stars here). This year it's got it back. It's one of only three restaurants in Melbourne with three hats. |

There's still a herd of them there that I don't have a clue about. |

i think we should have a prediction game on how early in each show we will see carmen say she is well known for being good at desserts
i think it was the first thing she said in her first VT last night on the low scoring for the guest chefs, i think the change to making them wait to see what they are cooking with for the extra 15 minutes is maybe contributing to that |

I am hopeful that Theresa will be able to shine and stop having to get in our faces to get attention...we'll have a chance to see now that Jimmy is finally out of the competition and boy, did he deserve to go or what!
The accent thing is bizarre. There's a difference in the siblings' ages (a fair few years I think) and perhaps where they learned and who taught them made the difference. When I was a teenager I dated a German boy and he spoke English with a decidedly American accent because he was being taught English by an American.

Not that much. He's 49, she's 45. I find Theresa much more irritating than Jimmy, I must be in the minority

I'm glad you said that, I was beginning to think I was the only one. I don't know what it is in particularly, she just irritates me.
![]() I have to say I do like the new format for the immunity challenge, it does make it fairer and also the scoring seems to be more realistic. Might have to play the 'dessert queen' drinking game tonight. I wonder what role Nigella is going to have today, last week MPW was screaming at them at the pass. Not sure Nigella has the skills to do that. |

Is it just me or does Con remind anyone of Jeremy Piven/Mr Selfridge?

It appears that they are doing a fete today as Nigella is there...with jam? Right up WI street (well, not sure that she would actually cut it to be honest!). What do you think?
Is Dessert Queen going to mention it early as it looks as though they are making a lot of carnival type food? |

Ok Harry seems to be an idiot now... Insisting on his stupid brookie-nonsense...ignoring Shannon ....now ignoring Gary? A little too full of himself? Taking over the mantle from Jimmy McSmuggerson?

But somehow in a nicer way? My take on it was that he knew Nigella and Matt loved them back at the house and if it ain't broken etc...he had an amazing kicked puppy look when Gary dissed the idea

Do you think that the Brookie could be the end of Harry? Pride comes before a fall after all.
I'd kind of like his team to fail cos of Theresa

He seems to have dealt with it ok, not that he came up with the solution himself, but even so! The day of the brookie has now passed though, it will not be rolled out again surely?
I'd kind of like his team to fail cos of Theresa ![]() ![]() Love the fact that Cecilia horrified both of them with her maths and the answer she gave about the amount of cabbage they'd need. 37kgs? Wow, that will be one smelly kitchen (and possibly one VERY smelly fete! |
