We all know Charlie is going right? I look forward to his exit.

I like Harry he is one of my favs (along with Chloe) I know he is going to be amazing in the pressure test. as for Elise I am beginning to think she has plateaued.

I cant warm to Nicolette and I have no idea why..

I want Brett out next followed closely by Karmen.

Just reinforces my belief that sometimes they are told what to make - same with Nicolette's grainy parfait - I think she was told to try for that texture in order to stand out from the crowd!

Maggie Bear? Mmmmmm, I'm not sure - a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing or even the grandma/wolf in red riding hood? 🐏🐺

Charlie's luck finally ran out.

Harry irritated me tonight at the tasting. You chose to throw everything up to go on a TV show and gamble on winning it, matey. No good sitting grizzling about it now you're scared you're going home.

Two of those contestants were battering lumps out of their chocolate domes for what seemed like ages but then both managed to get them out with literally ten seconds to spare? That's handy.

Slightly bizarre dish, looks great after hours of creating it and then fiddling it together and then someone drops it from a reasonable height to smash it all up. Still, pretty sure I could devour one of those on my own

In general though I do sometimes wonder what the "end game" is for these dessert-based pressure tests/challenges. Every time it's another attempt to raise the ante over and above the last ridiculously complex, fiddly, process-heavy super-dessert, in a way that's somehow much more exaggerated than non-desserts.

"This time the recipe has 245 steps, which will take you 11.5 hours to complete. At the end of which you will assemble it at the only place where atmospheric pressure allows the dish to exist, namely the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, and you may only use your left hand and right eye whilst counting back from one million, in sevens. Should you survive, the next challenge is to make some jaffles."

Yes, the timing was very reminiscent of MKR flexitime. What tremendous luck they managed to get their domes out pretty much in one piece in time. Although to be fair they've always played fast and loose with the editing on MCA, we really have no idea when they were actually doing it. It could have been with 20 minutes to go for all we know.

The dessert itself was ridiculous. But I'm prejudiced. White chocolate isn't chocolate. Anything made with it is only good for smashing!

It was a fairly silly dessert, but give me 5 minutes and a spoon and I would have polished it off!

But ding dong, Charlie's gone! Now we just need to give Karmen the elbow and Brett the pirate, and I can enjoy the rest of the series

I too found that dessert a bit strange too. Can't say I'm that surprised Charlie's gone.

Brett is the pilot with the two daughters. The one with the son who's a chef is Miles.

Was that really a restaurant dessert? I can imagine the mess when a group of people drop their puds and the table, floor and guests all get splattered with all that goo.
Looks fab but totally OTT.
I'd want to eat ALL my dessert, especially as it's bound to cost a fortune, and not have to lick it off the table.

I watched later as I had book club last night and it ran late, but the elimination couldn't have happened to a more deserving competitor. He'd been winging it for so long that his luck just had to run out.

I have to say that I hope so badly that Brett doesn't win the chance to get immunity!

if she deserves it then don't mind. I find it quite pointless that he went out to pick flowers to put on the eclairs that couldn't be eaten. What was the point of that? As he is now rightly saying, the challenge was about the eclairs, not the presentation! Though they do judge on it - the flowers were pointless...don't think he's going to win!

And then they said it was about the choux pastry, yet there was no coverage of them actually making the choux?!

Ahhh I am 2 episodes behind (well three once today's happens) - I WILL CATCH UP!!!!

Ok well I am going to jot my ramblings down tomorrow... I a, at the start of Maggie Beer (sp?) week... everybody getting hysterical about the old duck!

I am relieved that we only had a day of her (though I don't mind her)...wish we'd had the same of MPW and Nigella.

Ahh ok. I got as far as the mystery box before I got tempted away with Strictly It Takes Two and onto tonight/' Great British Menu.

That eclair round seemed a bit simple to me compared to the usual deciders - choux pastry's not hard to make, they must be struggling for ideas. Not surprising they had trouble choosing between them in a pretty easy contest but happy that Brett wasn't even in the running.

However much they were cheering her on the others must be delighted Chloe didn't get another pin!

That is the funniest comment I have read in ages!! Literally tears rolling down my face! OH thinks I have lost the plot.

I have finally caught up. Brent is really beginning to annoy me and I don't really know why... and I have noticed we are seeing more of Trent (and believe me I am not complaining)!

But there are still so many of them I sort of lose track of who is who apart from the stand out annoyances like Startled Wabbit Matt, Brent the Pirate, and thank god Charlie has gone - he was really beginning to bug me and I had to laugh at the pre-ad-break shot of all the judges looking unimpressed when he tried to smash his Dome of Impossible Chocolate!

Right - hopefully I can stay up to date for a while now!

I've reached a milestone today! During the opening credits I could correctly state "Gone, still there, still there, gone" etc for each of the contestants! For the past three weeks, the names have been peppered with "who the hell are you?"

Kylie looks like she's aged a bit - mentoring took its toll...
