I'm fearing for Mimi. In the first VT she said all you needed was some bad luck and you could go and it looked like she just shrugged. Knowing the VTs are filmed after the elimination has finished it straight away made me nervous and her lamb/thai combo is a real tough one.

I have finally caught up. Brent is really beginning to annoy me and I don't really know why... and I have noticed we are seeing more of Trent (and believe me I am not complaining)!
But there are still so many of them I sort of lose track of who is who apart from the stand out annoyances like Startled Wabbit Matt, Brent the Pirate, and thank god Charlie has gone - he was really beginning to bug me and I had to laugh at the pre-ad-break shot of all the judges looking unimpressed when he tried to smash his Dome of Impossible Chocolate! Right - hopefully I can stay up to date for a while now! I actually like Matt - why Startled Wabbit? |

back to the weird ice creams, smoked bacon and maple syrup ice cream
i am not a fan of smoky food but have a soft spot for ice cream so that would be a bit of a conflict for me |

Smoky bacon and maple syrup ice cream is delicious - I had it once at a breakfast place...on a pile of breakfast pancakes (for lunch). So good...

smoky food or drink is a struggle for me ever since i got exceptionally drunk drinking amstel beer in crete a few years ago and made myself quite ill, so now any time i taste smoky stuff it just reminds me of that and isn't a good memory

I am guessing from that Amstel beer is quite smoky(?). I've only ever had beer once.

Sounds like Zoe may also be in a class with them, with a grainy pumpkin filling and a 'thrown together' tart case!
elena's does look good , i make a spicy rice that i use alot as an accompaniment(sp) to chicken or pork and it looks a bit like that |

Man who appears to be called Myles probably going.
Seemed that the judges were telling Mimi to just cook a Thai dish and substitute lamb. |

Miles is annoying me! I hope he's out tonight.
Matt's lebanese thing looked delicious! I've been away for a week, and can't tell even tell who's missing, so that shows how much I've been taking in the names so far. |

I think that Charlie had been turning into the Jonathan of the season, but finally he was eliminated. Not alone with Brent at all...though I get him and Miles confused so often it's annoying (why do they have to look alike?).
I actually like Matt - why Startled Wabbit? |

We're doing well this series - who do we want out next, Brett?
Of course, Miles' main problem was calling his dish salmon two ways. So last year. He should have called it textures of salmon.

Boom! Terrific result all round!
Elena seems genuinely nice and I don't begrudge her or Harry or Matt Not Goss getting the plaudits I've decided that I don't like Elise now, I've been binge watching Nashville and she reminds me of Juliette Barnes |

I know I'm pretty militant on this, but crying is instant disqualification, especially whether it's over such silliness as "should I play my immunity pin which is specifically meant to save me from eliminations" and doubly especially when it's accompanied by such bollocks as "I'm used to making all my decisions benefit other people but now it's time to do something for myself"
Vomit Anyway, bye bye Miles. Probably not gonna miss him much as a chef, but there's something indefinably Aussie about his accent. "Miles is developing a concept centres on the 'Miles Pie Club'". Umm...yeah, methinks it may need some work |
